Justice for Young German Shepherd Reportedly Found Dead in Backyard

Target: Stephanie Newell, District Attorney of Bell County, Texas

Goal: Hold woman accountable for the reported death of a dog in her care.

A shocking case of alleged animal cruelty has emerged in Copperas Cove, Texas, involving Natalia Lamontiara Trader, a suspect in a homicide investigation. Authorities reportedly discovered the body of a dead dog hidden in her backyard. An affidavit stated that when police responded to complaints against Trader, they were greeted by an overwhelming stench coming from her property, and it appears Trader had previously been warned about the welfare of her pets. The reported discovery of a young German shepherd’s body, infested with maggots and flies, paints a disturbing picture of neglect and abuse.

On September 4, 2025, police officers were called to Trader’s residence after a neighbor reported both a foul odor and threats made against them. Upon investigation, officers say they found a foldable kennel in her backyard containing the deceased dog, which was covered under an air mattress. This shocking scene was not the first indication of Trader’s apparent disregard for animal welfare; in May 2025, animal control had previously responded to reports of another dog left without food or water at her property.

This situation demands immediate action. The horrific conditions under which this innocent dog seemingly suffered cannot be overlooked. Ensuring that Trader faces the full extent of the law for her alleged actions is essential not only for justice for the deceased dog but also to send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our community. Demand the District Attorney pursue the maximum punishment allowable under Texas law for the alleged acts of cruelty committed by Trader.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Newell,

The case of Natalia Lamontiara Trader has raised serious concerns regarding animal cruelty in our community. As reported, a young German shepherd was discovered dead in her backyard, hidden away and infested with maggots and flies. Trader’s prior history of alleged neglect, with animal control officials having visited her residence previously due to complaints about leaving dogs outside without food or water, only underscores the severity of this situation.

It is imperative that those who mistreat and endanger innocent animals face appropriate legal consequences to ensure justice for the victims and to deter similar conduct in the future. We urge you to take this matter seriously by pursuing the maximum punishment for Natalia Lamontiara Trader so that it reflects the severity of her alleged actions.

Sincerely,
