Monkey Allegedly Burned on Electric Fence at Ashram Wall: Demand Justice

Target: Chandra Prakash Singh, District Magistrate of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

Goal: Order an urgent probe into the alleged electric-fence injury to a monkey, hold any responsible parties accountable, and remove unsafe live wiring that endangers animals.

A monkey in Gaura Nagar was reportedly left with severe burn wounds after becoming stuck to a live electric fence on an ashram boundary. Locals say the injured animal has been wandering for days, crying out in pain. Winter magnifies suffering. The images and accounts seem to point to neglect and a dangerous setup allegedly exposes wildlife to electrocution.

Residents and advocates further report confusion over who should respond. Departments have apparently passed responsibility while the animal continues to struggle. Unregulated perimeter electrification near urban wildlife corridors is a recipe for cruelty. Monkeys displaced from shrinking habitat face hunger, hostility, and now live near human habitations.

Humane law and basic decency require immediate action. This petition urges an on-record investigation, swift veterinary treatment for the injured monkey, and penalties if the inquiry confirms violations. Unsafe live wiring must be disconnected. Safer barriers and rapid-response protocols should replace dangerous electrification.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Magistrate Singh,

We are writing regarding reports that a monkey in Gaura Nagar suffered burn injuries after becoming stuck on a live electric fence at an ashram wall. Eyewitness accounts indicate the animal has roamed for days in pain without timely relief. This situation signals a broader risk where unregulated live wiring can maim wildlife.

Please direct a time-bound investigation with the Forest Department, police, municipal authorities, and animal-health officers. If the inquiry confirms unlawful or unsafe electrification that harmed wildlife, we urge appropriate charges and the strongest penalties permitted by law. We also ask that the injured monkey receive immediate veterinary care, with regular public updates.

Finally, please order the disconnection of hazardous live fencing, mandate safe physical barriers, and establish a clear hotline and response protocol so animals are not left to suffer again. Accountability matters. Prevention matters more.

Sincerely,
