Stop Widespread Distribution of Online Animal Cruelty Content

Target: Mark Zuckerberg, Chairman and CEO of Meta

Goal: Prevent proliferation of content featuring torture and killing of animals.

A cat is shot with an air gun and suffers a ruptured spleen. A fox and a hedgehog lose their lives from suspected catapult attacks. These harrowing incidents represent just a few of the 370-plus weapon-related animal attacks that took place in England and Wales in just one year’s time. Statistics suggest that animal cruelty crimes involving slingshots, crossbows, catapults, and air guns have risen by roughly a quarter, with cats disproportionately targeted in these heinous attacks.

Other reports indicate that sick social media trends may be driving these soaring rates. In many cases, perpetrators film themselves performing these cruel attacks in the hopes of gaining attention on online platforms. One particularly troubling investigation uncovered an alleged network of young children who reportedly intentionally tortured and killed animals with catapults. The apparent acts were then distributed on the WhatsApp messaging platform.

WhatsApp is owned by Meta, which has faced intense scrutiny for violent content on its Facebook and Instagram platforms as well. Sign the petition below to demand this powerful influencer do more to stop the rampant and unchecked spread of animal cruelty online.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Zuckerberg,

A recent survey from the United Kingdom found that nearly half of youth have reported seeing online animal cruelty within the past year. Meta’s WhatsApp messaging service alone allegedly helped proliferate content that reportedly depicted violent catapult attacks against animals by children. Even viral trends depicting the taunting of pets is a slippery slope that can lead to larger cruelties.

Despite various laws against some of these practices, the cruelty continues. Please be a social media leader in combating and neutralizing this disturbing rise in inhumanity. Take every measure possible to ensure Meta and its platforms are not a home for animal cruelty.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Zuckerberg should be fined £50,000 by the govt for each piece of online abuse not removed within 24 hours. After a week it would get through to this insular tit that his cesspit outfit isnt good enough, as he would be kisd8ng goodbye to a lot of millions by then. Only way to get through to that creepy loon

    • Nothing really “gets through” to those steeped in evil! All the “should’s” in the world won’t happen unless WE stand in OUR inner and outer power.

  2. amazing how jerkerberg continues to preach that facebook does not condone violence and does not allow it’s content yet you can see it in abundance any given day of the week. remove protection 230 from all these social media platforms and you will see this shit stop. they should be held accountable just like any other form of media that can be sued for inaccurate or inappropriate content.

  3. It is atrocious what is being allowed. Online content has a HUGE impact on the shaping of youth. Zuckerberg is partly responsible for what these teens become down the road. I urge him NOW to STOP allowing any video that depicts violence and cruelty towards animals on his platforms!

  4. Sick monsters! The Almighty’s vengeance is coming soon for the evil, heartless monsters! He has the POWER AND THE RIGHT, DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE UNTO YOU! JUSTICE AND CORRECTION!

  5. The perpetrators of all online animal murder videos deserves the exact same treatment they inflict regardless of their age. The owner of the platform that supports this derserves the same.

  6. If I ever caught my own kids committing such crimes against animals, they’d never leave the house unsupervised again!

  7. This has become a huge problem. Facebook, Meta, X, You tube and more sites have become sites for information and education, also entertainment. But any entertainment, so called, does not harm or kill animas or people. These sites want only money for the bottom line. However, perverts are using the sites for their 15 minutes of fame. Animals are being tortured and killed by such perverts. What you do to another needs to be done to you! The Golden Rule. Therefore all harm you do will be returned the same as you gave. Too many people are hurting innocent animals.
I feel all who kill need to be killed and in the same manner they gave to their victims. No mercy.

  8. All sites on any platform must be overseen. Any using their sites for harm to animals Neds to be taken down for one year and fined several million dollars. Do this and the creeps will monitor their content. Otherwise they will continue with excuses, reason, and more crap. Hurt them in the pocketbook and watch how strongly they monitor their sites.
