Stop Performing Animal Sacrifice in the Name of Religious Practice

Target: Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar

Goal: End animal sacrifices at Shyama Mai temple, enforcing humane religious practices.

In the serene precincts of Shyama Mai temple in the state of Bihar in India, a disturbing ritual lurks. Allegations have emerged of animal sacrifices being conducted, despite recent controversy and a supposed ban. This practice, deeply entrenched in tradition, continues to shock and dismay those who value animal welfare. The temple management, while stating neutrality, implicitly permits these acts, leading to a complex and emotionally charged situation.

Recent changes by the temple committee, including building walls around sacrificial areas, suggest a shift towards concealment rather than cessation. Meanwhile, calls for symbolic sacrifices, like chopping ash gourds or breaking coconuts, have emerged as humane alternatives. Yet, these have not quelled the persistence of actual animal sacrifices. A blend of religious fervor and tradition fuels these acts, often overshadowing the plight of the animals involved.

This situation demands urgent intervention. Respect for religious practices must harmoniously coexist with the principles of compassion and non-violence. Call upon the authorities to enforce the ban on animal sacrifices at Shyama Mai temple.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear CM Nitish Kumar,

We write to you with a deep sense of urgency and concern regarding the ongoing issue at Shyama Mai temple in Darbhanga. Reports of animal sacrifices, despite the ban, are alarming and demand your immediate attention. The temple committee’s recent actions, including constructing barriers around sacrificial areas, have not alleviated the situation. Instead, they have merely obscured it.

While the temple management espouses neutrality, their stance indirectly perpetuates these practices. Symbolic sacrifices have been suggested as alternatives, yet the traditional sacrifice of animals reportedly continues. This not only raises ethical concerns but also reflects poorly on our collective commitment to compassion and non-violence. It is crucial to understand that religious practices can evolve to be more humane and in tune with modern ethical standards.

Therefore, we urge you to take decisive action. Enforce the ban on animal sacrifices at Shyama Mai temple, ensuring compliance through effective monitoring and regulation. Promote symbolic rituals that respect both religious sentiments and animal welfare. It is time to lead a change that honors our rich cultural heritage while upholding our duty towards all living beings.

Sincerely,

  1. Good old India again!! What a shame this beautiful country is inhabited by such sadistic beings. Just like those who torture animals in the name of “research”, these morons do what they do because they are evil and they enjoy watching terrified animals suffer. Wouldn’t it make more sense to sacrifice people instead? This would sort out their over population problem as well as satisfy their bloodlust….job done.

      Agree!!

Once again INDIA is in the headlines. It appears that this country is on par with that other most gut-wrenchingly cruel country CHINA…The masses in INDIA seem to enjoy abusing, torturing, tormenting and killing innocent dogs (and cats)just to satisfy their own perverted taste in animal brutality and blood-lust. Their once great leader Gandhi must be thoroughly ashamed and shocked at the barbaric, sadistic behaviour of his fellow countrymen.

  2. Perhaps the REAL GOD ALMIGHTY will allow them to be sacrifice in the Great Tribulation the same way the did to their victims. Even though it was practice in the OT , it was to be done quickly and humanly. They were pointing the way to The Perfect Being Jesus Christ’s sacrifice to pay everyone’s death penalty upon repentance of sin. Once He was sacrifice, this symbolic action was and is NO LONGER REQUIRED!

  3. How stupid does someone need to be to think that their god will be pleased by their murder of his creations? What mind conceives of such idiocy? “Oh hey god, we think youre just fab so we decided to kill some of the things you created to praise you. Oh, erm, what do you mean god? Thats the total opposite of how you wants us to behave and we are now eternally damned to a firey tortuous afterlife?! And if we wanted to sacrifice anything we only had a right to sacrifice ourselves, and killing other things wad always a cardinal sin as we were acting with massive irredeemable arrogance by ever thinking we had a right to destroy your creations? Oh this is bad…., is there anything we can kill to put this right and get our scabby arse into heaven? What do you mean, we are all going to hell to be tortured for all the things we murdered and we are beyond redemption…..ooh”( we can but hope this is what awaits these sadistic scum!)
