Target: Steve Troxler, Commissioner of the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
Goal: Enact a ban on the use of harmful pesticides to safeguard pollinator populations and ecosystem health.
The invaluable role of pollinators in maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting the food supply cannot be overstated. However, the excessive use of neonicotinoid pesticides is endangering these vital creatures and disrupting the delicate balance of nature in North Carolina. The scientific consensus on the harmful impact of neonicotinoids on pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and other essential insects, is overwhelming. These pesticides have been linked to declining pollinator populations, disrupting their navigation, communication, and reproductive capabilities.
While pollinators are responsible for pollinating numerous crops that make up a significant portion of North Carolina’s agriculture, the continued use of neonicotinoids poses a grave threat to the environment, food security, and economy. Taking urgent action to ban these harmful pesticides is essential to ensure the survival of pollinators and the health of the ecosystems.
Sign the petition below to demand the immediate prohibition of neonicotinoid pesticides in North Carolina to protect pollinators and the biodiversity of the region.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Commissioner Troxler,
The beauty and productivity of the state are inextricably linked to the well-being of pollinators that diligently work to sustain the ecosystems and food systems. It is with great concern that we write to implore you to take a bold stance against the use of neonicotinoid pesticides.
The mounting scientific evidence unequivocally demonstrates the detrimental impact of neonicotinoids on pollinators, leading to declines in their populations and disrupting the intricate web of life. We cannot afford to overlook the potential consequences of inaction, as the delicate balance of the environment hangs in jeopardy.
By banning neonicotinoid pesticides, North Carolina can stand as a beacon of responsible environmental stewardship, protecting the pollinators, safeguarding the crops, and preserving the natural harmony we hold dear.
Sincerely,

We askew demands but nothing ever happens to change the death rate for bees, butterflies, and all wildlife. Corporations and their bottom lines are more important.
Where are our laws? Where are our and their protections? These beautiful butterflies and essential bees need protection from corporations like Bayer, and many more. When the time comes that our food supply is too low to feed us all the politicians will blame the people and the people will blame the politicians. Divided we fall, united we stand and can help ourselves by helping our insects and birds. The fault is on us that we elect politicians who don’t give a damn and do nothing and ourselves for unloading responsibilities onto others. We are at fault thus we need to correct our mistakes. Period.
