Target: Hancock County Prosecutor Brent Eaton
Goal: Seek maximum penalty for people accused of neglecting countless farm animals.

Kids in a school bus driving past a farm apparently noticed “multiple deceased and decaying animals.” When this was reported to authorities, police investigated and apparently discovered a horrific scene of abuse and neglect.

Dozens of apparently abused goats, cattle, mules, chickens were found in tragic conditions. Some of the animals were dead, some were injured, some had frostbite, and some were in the process of starving to death.

All told, there were between 100-115 animals found on the property.

When police walked around the owner’s house, they apparently observed “a very strong odor of… animal urine” and there were numerous large flies buzzing around the home.

The barn where the animals lived apparently had moldy hay and numerous safety hazards, making the location unsafe for humans or animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecutor Eaton,

Farm animals deserve protections, just like household pets. Unfortunately, that is often not the case in our society.

We understand that you’ve pressed charges against the individuals accused of abusing these animals. However, please make sure you seek a fair and just punishment if they are found guilty, and not just a slap on the wrist.

Sincerely,

STOP with the animal cruelty and act like a civilized human being with compassion and grace! Some people, like these, should NEVER EVER be allowed to own even ONE animal, let alone many!

  2. Animal abuse is rampant, especially with farm animals.
