Goal: Thank the Biden administration for giving protection to migratory birds.
The Trump-era was fraught with decisions that weakened the protection of many animals. In particular, migratory birds were threatened when laws protecting them were removed, and penalties for killing them were reduced. Petitions such as this one fought against this environmentally disastrous decision.
In another move forward, the Biden administration has reinstated laws that protect these precious members of our ecosystems. This decision honors an original treaty established in 1916 between Canada and the United States that was instated to protect birds that migrate across the borders.
