Don’t Let Police Kill Heroic Dog Who Saved Owners From Attack

Target: Chief Constable Andy Marsh, Avon and Somerset Police, Bristol, United Kingdom

Goal: Ensure that Kylo the dog is not put down by police after protecting his owners from an angry and violent mob.

A Staffie/Labrador mix named Kylo saved the lives of his owners in Bristol, UK, and now may be put down by the police. Kylo’s owners, an unnamed couple in their twenties, were attacked by a mob of 20 men when their faithful dog came to the rescue. The attack occurred at the couple’s home—the men reportedly believed it was the home of a pedophile to whom they intended to send their angry and brutal message. Despite the fact that he no longer lived there, the mob did not stop their violence and brutality. They attacked the couple instead.

The thugs spat on the 24-year-old woman and beat the 25-year-old man, breaking his nose and a rib, before Kylo managed to run them off. However, in the aftermath, Kylo was unable to distinguish that the police who arrived were trying to help, and allegedly bit two of the officers. Police have now seized him and are threatening to put him down. Kylo is a hero who saved his family. Sign below to demand that his life be spared.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Constable Marsh,

A Bristol couple was attacked by an angry and violent mob, and their lives were saved by their dog, Kylo. The attackers, heedless of the fact that their true target no longer lived at the house that now belongs to the couple, spat on the woman and laid into the man, breaking his nose and ribs. Kylo ran them off, but in the confusion that followed Kylo—unable to tell that police were not another threat—allegedly bit two officers. Now, Kylo has been taken by your police force, who want to put him down.

Kylo is a hero who saved an innocent couple from violence. He could not have known that the police were there to help. This dog and his owners should not be punished with such cruel finality for their bravery in the face of brutality and violence. I urge you to ensure that Kylo is not put down, and is returned to his owners.

Sincerely,

This dog is a true hero! His actions should be celebrated, not facing the death penalty for what he did. People are so quick to come to the wrong conclusion. Free the dog.

  2. Outrageous that this dog is perceived as anything other than a loyal companion who protected himself and his people. He reacted to a violent situation, and rightfully so!

  3. Marvin Rice says:

All KYLO was doing is protecting his house and his territory.thats what dogs do cause they look at us as a pack leader.i think they should just leave him alone especially when the mob was going in there house.thats like me I would shoot those people so there lucky they walked away from a dog bite.SO LEAVE KYLO ALONG.

  4. Hold on a minute! This loyal dog Kylo saves his owners from a mob of 20 men believing that it was the home of a pedophile. Maybe these thugs should’ve checked their information before laying into this couple, even after they found our he no longer lived at the address. Police are now saying when they arrived the dog bit two officers? This is absolute bullshit, the police will say anything to get the animal put down. Where is the justice in the dog protecting his home and family from these thugs and why does the law in the U.K always side with bastard criminals, explain it to me please. The police in the U.K are useless, over paid pricks that sit on their ass doing nothing! This dog deserves a fucking medal. Let’s start doing what the America’s do counter sue!

  5. Selena Brooks says:

Stupid ass cops again and their eagerness to kill it doesn’t matter to they. They are so disgusting and idiots!

  6. This “heroic” brave and loyal dog deserves an award, and NOT the injustice of being put down that’s being proposed. Where is your common sense – he was protecting his owners.
If anyone deserves punishment it’s the vigilante thugs who
attacked the homeowners – why are they going free?!
Officers are so trigger happy – they shoot 1st and ask questions later (if anyone survives) and with animals, that’s usually not the case. Animal behavior should be a required part of officer training and they need to stop and think before reacting! SAVE this dog and return him to his owners!

A dog saved his family and in havoc anyone can make a mistake especially being this poor dog whom just had to face the fact that his family was attacked and could not immediately identify the police…as that is what dogs do… kniw immediately when its police!! Really??? This is a dog whom are intelligent but expecting it to identify the police in this situation is ridiculous!!! Send this poor dog home to his owners!!!!

  8. Katherine Belisle says:

It shames me that a petition has to be signed to protect Kylo who was only protecting his Family * This is clearly common sense here * Why was Kylo even taken away * This is So SAD & poor Kylo I am sure if feeling like he is being punished for protecting his Family * Kylo must be very confused & the Humans must know that is clearly an accident * His loved ones were being attacked * In wars & a lot of other incidences * It is so confusing * A lot of our own through the years have been killed by friendly fire . . . . Shit happened, it is clearly an innocent mistake * Bring Kylo HOME NOW * NOW * NOW * NOW & stop this shit

  9. So some police officers pride was hurt and they are going kill a dog to feel better.

  10. Kylo is a hero.He has done nothing wrong.Release him to his loving family immediately.I am fed up with vile, corrupt, uneducated, oinker pig cops who have a hatred for dogs.Shame on these vile cops!

  11. Lesley Rodgers says:

The Police are well known for having NO COMMON SENSE whatsoever. This dog ought to get a bravery medal. The dog is at least as good as police dogs. There should be no question of whether it should be put down OF COURSE IT SHOULD NOT! The Police need to stop looking for ridiculous reasons to make a crime out of nothing – they seem to absolutely love making innocent animals and innocent people suffer – is it a power thing with them? 99% of the public have no confidence in the Police, so are they trying for 100%?

  12. Rose Coffey says:

There is no question here as to why Kylo would have bitten the police officers after going through the traumatic incident that he did. It would be more questionable to wonder why he would NOT have bitten them with his adrenaline as high as it must have been. Kylo’s life must be spared.

  13. Diane johnson says:

Why are the police even considering this awful act… they dam well know the dog was protecting his owners that’s what most dogs do if someone enters your home without permission. Get it together CHief constable …please do not let this happen.

  14. Cynthia Mattera says:

Kilo was just protecting his family! Please do not put this amazing hero down!

  15. I believe that, while not all, but a lot, of police have NO COMMON SENSE when it comes to dogs and their desire to protect those they love. Kylo was still in protection mode when the police showed up, why not take a little precaution? I think it is appalling that you would consider putting this little hero down, when actually, he deserves a medal. Think about the situation that brought about this unfortunate event and DO NOT make Kylo pay for what he did in defense of his humans.

  16. REALLY!KYLO WAS PROTECTING HIS FAMILY AND WITH ALL THE COMMOTION the dog was clearly reacting !

  17. Catherine emerson says:

Dear God, this country’s gone bloody man, this beautiful dog is a Hero. Those two twats who have the audacity to wear police uniforms should be behind a desk they shouldn’t be allowed out on the streets, they’re a bloody disgrace. As for the pencil d..cks running about in packs I’d kick the stool away from every one of them. The law is an ass and it’s getting worse. This “important” member of the family has more back bone than any of the morons involved in this.

  18. Hudsondog1 says:

Catherine, you should run for parliament. I think you’ve covered everything that’s wrong with this matter in few words. Nobody is actually considering the fear Kylo would have been feeling. Don’t we all lash out when we are afraid?

  19. Patricia Wolf says:

Kylo was protecting his family and definitely should not or never be put down. He is a hero and should not be put down What is wrong with this police department – release Kylo and return him home – DO NOT PUT HIM DOWN

  20. Maria Nowicki says:

Police everywhere seem to have NO common sense. These
kinds of incidents are becoming more and more frequent.
Dogs are not able to see uniforms and distinguish police
from thugs. This dog is a hero!
In reality some police are WORSE than thugs.
