PETITION LETTER:

Dear State’s Attorney Broccolino,

A dog suffered near-fatal injuries after he was allegedly stabbed. The suspect reportedly disemboweled the Yorkshire Terrier during a violent outburst in his home. We demand justice for this innocent dog.

Howard County police arrested Omar Gertman on charges of felony animal cruelty after he allegedly stabbed his dog, Boo. Gertman initially assaulted an acquaintance in his home, police stated, before destroying some property and then attacking Boo. Boo was reportedly disemboweled, and most did not expect him to survive. Thanks to a quick response by police and medical personnel, Boo did survive and has since been adopted by a new family. Gertman is being held without bail at the Howard County Detention Center and he will face his charges at a later date.

The person who nearly killed this poor dog is a danger to animals and must be punished. We demand that you seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
