Goal: Punish man who allegedly shot pets to discipline children.
In a shocking act of parental discipline, an Oklahoma man allegedly killed his daughter’s pet dogs as punishment for not doing chores. The accused now faces animal cruelty charges and, if found guilty, should receive the maximum available punishment.
The alleged incident began when the teenage girl and her brother were staying with their father. The children allege that when the accused discovered dirty dishes in the sink, he became extremely angry and demanded the children get out of his house. After the girl went home with her mother, she reportedly returned to her father’s house later to find the dogs missing. A witness alleges that the girl’s father, Jeffrey Don Edwards, shot the two dogs living on the premises as retribution for the argument. Authorities later discovered both dogs’ bodies a short distance from the home.
If these allegations prove true, two innocent animals lost their lives because of a domestic dispute. Sign this petition to demand justice for these living beings allegedly left at the mercy of a cruel and violent caretaker.

Dear District Attorney Prater,
The case of Jeffrey Don Edwards is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic disputes. As in so many cases, innocent lives were allegedly lost. The circumstances surrounding this animal cruelty case should aggravate, not mitigate, the alleged crime.
An individual who would allegedly harm not one but two beloved pets as a twisted form of “punishment” for his children is not an individual who should be granted leniency. Not only were these animals allegedly executed in a cold, cruel manner, but their bodies were equally coldly disposed of. Further, this reported action has shattered the trust, humanity, and caring that should inform the relationship between a parent and a child. If this man did indeed shoot to kill his child’s cherished pets, he did not just commit animal cruelty. He enacted a destructive form of child abuse.
Please ensure that if found guilty, this alleged abuser will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

I agree with Patrick except I say to STRIP him naked then hang him in the town where he lives lives so all his neighbors will know what cruel acts he had committed. It makes you wonder what else had he has done to his daughter.
I feel so bad for these children. I don’t understand how he could react like this for a few dirty plates and utensils? Appalling behavior and he should be ashamed of himself. Throw the book at him!

No animal should suffer at someone’s cruelty and callus thinking. He should be punished to the fullest extent possible. Moreover, his phsycological cruelty to his children is more concerning. What else have they been through? I would never want to see him again.

Not only should he be punished for killing the dogs, but he should also lose all parental rights. If that was my child, I would never let him see her again. If he loses all rational thought to the point of killing animals because of dirty dishes, when will he lose control & kill his child in a fit of uncontrolled anger ????
This is a kind of uncontrolled behavior that can escalate into a mass shooting. His guns should be taken away from him permanently and a police record kept of irrational behavior.

This POS got a 5 year suspended sentence, 100 hours of community service, and a 5000 fine. He was convicted in Dec 2019, so I don’t know why this petition is still circulating.
So that other like-minded persons won’t be tempted to try it in other parts of the country where the laws are similarly flaccid & weak that’s why!
Give that man a heavy sentence for his violent crime!!! He did it to innocent animals, he would definitely do it to humans as well. He is clearly a menace to society and doesn’t deserve a second chance or pardon.
Technically this is also child abuse. He should lose all visitation with his children. I’m sure he abuses his children and will murder them eventually as well.
OMG this is not just an act of animal cruelty but physical and emotional abuse to both the children. If this is how he takes care of his children I can only imagine what he would have done I in anger if his children had stayed and not to their mom’s. He needs to be charged with abuse and neglect to the children as well as animal cruelty and neglect for the two dogs. I’m sure there are other charges that can also be heaped onto his charges. And hopefully they will go to court and not bargain down to something lesser so he gets a lenient sentence. This should be charged and plead guilty for what he has done and not for anything less!
Disgusting ignorant sadist…unforgivable. I hope to God he no longer has custody of his children, and that only voluntary, supervised visitation is allowed. Those dogs were worth 20 of him.
