Goal: Find and punish children accused of throwing a dog into a fire.
Police are looking for the people responsible for throwing a dog into a fire pit, causing severe burns. According to Katie Powell, founder of Save a Dog Network Canada, a group of children took the dog, an 8-month-old puppy named Polo, and threw him into a fire pit in Red Sucker Lake First Nation, Manitoba. She went on to say that Polo “came home with smoke bubbling from his nose. He had second degree burns on anything that wasn’t covered in fur.”
The poor dog had patches of fur missing as well as some blisters. Some of the dog’s fur melted into his skin, causing lesions. His nose, paws, mouth, and other areas were raw and severely damaged, and his eyes were left with ulcers from smoke damage. Investigators say that the pup’s fur saved his life — if he had a shorter coat, he would have died.
Fortunately, he survived the ordeal and is now recovering at the Tuxedo Animal Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. RCMP are currently investigating, but have not made any arrests. Rights group PETA is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who comes forward with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.
This act was blatantly cruel and could have resulted in the death of this innocent animal. Because of this cruelty, Polo will suffer for a long time, and may have lifelong disabilities. A dog was recently thrown into a fire pit, allegedly by a group of children. The dog suffered severe burns to his entire body, particularly his eyes, nose, mouth, paws, and testicles. Investigators say that he would have died if he had a short coat — his fur protected him from a lot of damage but also melted into his skin, causing lesions.
This horrendous act caused extreme suffering to an innocent animal, and could even result in disability or chronic pain for the rest of Polo’s life. We, the undersigned, ask that you work hard to find and punish the people responsible for this heartless act of cruelty.

What little psychopaths!!!!! Don’t let their ages distract you from the fact that children who hurt animals go on to hurt humans. Go read up on almost ALL serial killers, they all began with hurting animals. These children will do anything and say anything to get out of trouble but do not make the mistake of thinking that they have any normal brain functions. They are extremely bright and know what is required to “get off”-they will pretend to be sorry. But research shows that they have no empathy and no empathy is the basis for all cruelty. I would suggest a psychological evaluation over a long period of time because they can even manipulate psychologists.

There must be severe consequences for ALL of the children involved in this heinous act! Force each child to hold a finger into a flame, so they have some concept of the pain they inflicted on this poor puppy! DO NOT LET THIS ACT GO BY WITHOUT SEVERE PUNISHMENT – AND I MEAN SEVERE!!!

They have just as much a right as we do to live their lives on this planet, free from torture and murder at the hands of humans. What needs to happen is The young Offenders Act needs to be scrapped. Kids and parents are hiding behind the fact the kids identity will be hidden from the public. This must be changed. Children who engage in such violent, horrific behavior toward animals will continue down that road, and it will escalate to bullying, abuse, and torture of children, even adults. Eventually murder. Serial killers in training, that’s exactly what they are! STOP THEM NOW. This heinous act has earned them stiff sentences. When looking for these kids, interview teachers. Also, be aware that children who do these violent, chilling things come from abusive, troubled homes. The animals and humans living in your community don’t deserve to fear for their lives. those children are on a dark path. Age is not an excuse. Sadism at a young age is usually a sign of being a psychopath. Here is story from my childhood about a kid who thought it was funny to cook frogs in microwaves. He got cancer at 15 and could feel microwaves going through him when his parents ran the oven at home. When he was dying he said demons in the forms of animals like ravening wolves were sitting in his hospital room leerimg at him and told him they were waiting for him to die. He was so horrified that he died on his feet trying to fight for his life.
People kid themselves if they think crimes committed against animals are freebies. There are stark consequences in a place called hell. Sadism is a quick trip there at any age.

Sorry for the typos. Reading about things like that just makes me furious. We need much stiffer laws regarding animal abuse and cruelty – and leniency should not be given due to age! The little monsters, who tortured and attempted to kill that poor puppy are serial killers in the making!

These “children” need to be placed into a mental facility and not released for YEARS!!!! There is NO excuse for what they have done.
Their parents should also be forced to pay for all of Polo’s vet bills and make a VERY generous donation to an animal rescue!!!
