Justice for Dogs and Cat Allegedly Found Starving or Dead

Target: Jessica Aurandt, Cambria County, PA District Attorney

Goal: Pursue full prosecution after two dogs were allegedly abandoned without food or water and a cat was allegedly found dead inside a cold residence.

Authorities began investigating after a welfare check at a residence uncovered what officers described as deeply disturbing conditions. According to an affidavit, two large dogs were found severely underweight inside a home where a pile of mail dated back two months. Investigators stated that neither animal had access to food or water and that there was minimal heat inside the residence. Officers also reportedly discovered a deceased black cat in a second-floor bathroom.

Police stated that the two dogs, believed to be a black Labrador and a German Shepherd, were transported for veterinary treatment. Medical staff reported that both dogs were extremely malnourished and showed visible signs of anemia and dehydration. Authorities have alleged that when contacted by phone, the individual connected to the residence claimed to be unaware of any animals being present.

The need for decisive legal action is urgent. Full prosecution, if the evidence supports these allegations, is essential to protect vulnerable animals and to deter any similar alleged neglect in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Aurandt,

We write to express grave concern regarding reports that two large dogs were found severely underweight inside a residence with no apparent access to food, water, or adequate heat. Officers reportedly discovered a deceased cat in the home as well, raising additional alarm.

Veterinary staff have indicated that the dogs were extremely malnourished and suffering from anemia and dehydration. These allegations, if substantiated, suggest prolonged deprivation and neglect of defenseless animals.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue full prosecution to the fullest extent permitted by law should the evidence substantiate these allegations. Clear accountability is essential to ensure that animals are not abandoned or left to suffer in unsafe and life-threatening conditions.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
