Justice for Cats Allegedly Found Dead and Abandoned Without Food or Water

Target: Kristopher Ellis, District Attorney of Lincoln County, Wisconsin

Goal: Secure full prosecution after multiple cats were allegedly abandoned, starved, and found dead inside a residence.

A deeply disturbing situation has emerged after numerous cats were allegedly discovered dead inside a home where they had been left without reliable access to food or water. Authorities say they found multiple deceased animals during a welfare check, while others were abandoned in conditions suggesting prolonged deprivation and suffering. Reports of empty water bowls, limited dry food placed in an improvised container, and living areas filled with fecal matter intensified concern about the animals’ alleged neglect and the duration of their distress.

Investigators determined that the animals had been left unattended for an extended period. Statements attributed to the accused indicated that visits to care for the cats stopped after an injury, while another individual denied being asked to provide assistance. These accounts, combined with the alleged discovery of numerous dead animals inside the residence, led to criminal charges including mistreatment causing death, failure to provide food, and abandonment.

Neglect resulting in death and extreme suffering among defenseless animals demands decisive legal accountability and firm enforcement of animal protection laws. Meaningful prosecution wherever evidence supports the allegations is essential to safeguard vulnerable animals, deter future cruelty, and affirm that suffering will not be tolerated. This petition therefore calls for full legal enforcement and penalties consistent with the gravity of the alleged harm.

PETITION LETTER:

The DA Ellis,

We write to express grave concern regarding reports that numerous cats were abandoned inside a residence without dependable access to food or water, and that many were found dead when authorities entered the home. Conditions inside the residence reportedly included empty water containers, minimal food, and living spaces contaminated with extensive waste, suggesting prolonged neglect and suffering.

Investigators concluded that the animals had been left unattended for a significant period, leading to criminal charges connected to mistreatment, starvation, and abandonment.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue thorough prosecution and to seek penalties that reflect the seriousness of the alleged cruelty wherever evidence substantiates wrongdoing. Strong enforcement is essential to protect animals, reinforce legal accountability, and prevent future harm.

Sincerely,
