Punish Man Accused of Brutally Swinging and Slamming Dog During Violent Incident

Target: Gordon C. Rhea, Attorney General of the United States Virgin Islands

Goal: Pursue full prosecution and meaningful penalties after a man was accused of violently abusing a dog and leaving two animals seriously injured.

A deeply disturbing incident has come to light after witnesses reported a man violently abusing a dog in public, an episode that was captured on video and resulted in serious injuries to two animals. According to police accounts, the accused was seen lifting a dog by the leash, swinging the animal overhead, and forcefully slamming it onto the ground while ignoring attempts by bystanders to intervene.

Witnesses further reported that when confronted, the accused threatened a woman with a large stick, escalating the situation and causing fear for personal safety. Law enforcement later reviewed multiple video recordings that reportedly corroborated witness statements and located the animals involved. Officers say they found one dog so badly injured it could barely move its hind legs, while a second dog appeared to have suffered an injury to one of its rear legs.

Both animals were removed by animal care authorities and taken for treatment. The accused was arrested and charged with first-degree animal abuse, along with additional offenses related to public disturbance. Acts of extreme violence toward animals are not only a grave moral concern but also a serious public safety issue that demands firm legal response.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Attorney General Rhea,

We are writing to express grave concern regarding an incident in which a man is accused of violently abusing a dog in public, resulting in severe injuries to two animals. According to police and witness statements, video evidence shows the accused lifting a dog by its leash, swinging the animal overhead, and slamming it onto the ground, causing significant harm. A second dog was reportedly also found injured at the same location.

Witnesses further reported that the accused threatened a bystander who attempted to intervene, underscoring the seriousness of the conduct and the risk posed to both animals and people. The animals were later removed by animal care authorities and required medical attention due to the extent of their injuries.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue this case to the fullest extent of the law and seek penalties that reflect the severity of the alleged actions. Strong prosecution is essential to protect animals, uphold public safety, and send a clear message that violent abuse will not be tolerated.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
