Decapitated Dogs Found Dumped as Killer Remains at Large: Take Action

Target: Katherine Fernandez Rundle, State Attorney, Miami-Dade County, Florida

Goal: Launch an urgent, coordinated investigation to identify and prosecute whoever is responsible for killing and dumping dogs in Miami-Dade County.

A horrifying pattern of extreme animal cruelty has emerged after the decomposing bodies of decapitated dogs were found dumped in public areas of Miami-Dade County. One dog was discovered along the Florida Turnpike, while another headless body was recovered weeks earlier from Biscayne Bay. Both animals suffered severe injuries, and neither case has been solved, leaving the public deeply alarmed.

Animal rescuers and veterinarians familiar with abuse cases say these deaths show signs of intentional violence rather than accidents. The clean nature of the decapitations and additional injuries raise grave concerns about deliberate acts of cruelty and possible connections to organized abuse such as dog fighting. Advocates working on the ground report repeated discoveries of abused, injured, and dead dogs in known dumping areas, underscoring the seriousness of the threat.

When animals are brutally killed and discarded without accountability, it signals a danger not only to animals but to the wider community. This petition calls for immediate, unified action by prosecutorial and law enforcement authorities to prioritize these cases, pursue leads aggressively, and ensure that whoever is responsible is identified and brought to justice.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Fernandez Rundle,

We are writing to express deep concern over the discovery of decapitated dogs dumped in Miami-Dade County, acts of extreme violence that have shocked residents and animal advocates alike. These killings were not isolated or accidental and demonstrate a level of cruelty that demands urgent attention.

Animal rescuers and veterinarians working in affected areas have documented repeated cases of severe abuse, including dogs with extensive injuries consistent with organized cruelty. The lack of arrests in these cases has caused growing fear and frustration among community members who believe a serious offender remains at large.

We respectfully urge your office to prioritize these investigations, coordinate closely with all relevant agencies, and dedicate the necessary resources to identify and prosecute the individual or individuals responsible. Swift and decisive action is essential to protect animals, deter future violence, and reassure the public that such brutality will not go unanswered.

Sincerely,
