Fifty-three Dogs Allegedly Found in Hoarding Home With About Half Dead: Seek Justice

Target: Jessica Ventiere, Lee County District Attorney, Lee County, Alabama

Goal: Seek the strongest felony penalties after dozens of dogs were allegedly hoarded, left to suffer and found dead inside a single home.

Authorities discovered 53 dogs inside a residence, with approximately half of the animals reportedly found dead. According to law enforcement, the scene suggested large-scale hoarding conditions, prompting immediate arrests and the filing of multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. The sheer number of animals allegedly affected points to prolonged neglect rather than an isolated incident.

Three family members living in the home were charged with multiple counts of aggravated animal cruelty and failure to properly dispose of animal remains. Investigators have stated that they are still determining the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths and suffering of the dogs. However, officials have confirmed that the conditions met the threshold for immediate intervention and criminal action.

When animals are allegedly confined in overwhelming numbers and left without adequate care, food, sanitation or medical attention, the result can be extreme suffering and death. Strong prosecution is essential to reflect the scale of the alleged harm and to deter future hoarding cases. This petition calls for full accountability and the maximum penalties allowed under the law for all alleged acts of cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Ventiere,

We are writing to express grave concern over reports that dozens of dogs were hoarded inside a single residence, with many of them reportedly dead. As reported by investigators, the conditions inside the home indicated prolonged neglect and overwhelming suffering affecting a large number of animals.

The alleged discovery of deceased dogs alongside living animals raises serious questions about deprivation, illness, and the failure to provide even basic care. Such alleged circumstances represent not only animal cruelty but a systemic breakdown of responsibility toward animals entirely dependent on human care.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue these cases to the fullest extent of the law. Please seek strong felony penalties that reflect the scale and severity of the alleged cruelty and ensure that large-scale animal hoarding and neglect are met with decisive accountability.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
