Cats Poisoned With Antifreeze Near Hotel Complex: Demand Urgent Investigation

Target: Baroness Sue Hayman, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Biosecurity, Borders & Animals, UK

Goal: Launch an immediate criminal investigation into the antifreeze poisoning of colony cats, file applicable charges, and implement rapid deterrents including surveillance, public alerts, and toxic bait sweeps.

Witness reports describe a grim scene in a community cat colony across from a large hotel complex. Multiple adult cats and kittens were found dead or dying. An abandoned bottle of antifreeze, a substance lethal to animals even in small amounts, was discovered near the bodies. The incident follows prior alerts about similar poisonings, heightening fears of a deliberate pattern.

The individual who previously notified authorities expressed outrage over yet another episode of cruelty. The use of a toxic substance in an open area presents a danger not only to animals but also to children and companion animals. Poisoning animals is a criminal offense under most animal protection laws and is typically treated as a serious administrative violation as well.

Swift action can save lives and deter repeat harm. Demand authorities canvass the area, collect and test residues, review any available surveillance, and obtain witness statements. If evidence supports intentional poisoning, appropriate charges should be filed. Immediate mitigation steps are also needed, including public warnings, removal of hazardous materials, proactive patrols, and collaboration with local rescue groups to stabilize and monitor the colony.

PETITION LETTER:

To Ms Hayman,

We are alarmed by reports of a mass poisoning at a cat colony opposite a hotel complex, where numerous adult cats and kittens were found dead or in critical condition. A discarded antifreeze bottle was discovered near the bodies, suggesting the use of a highly toxic agent that can be deadly even in small quantities.

This incident follows earlier warnings about similar events. The repeated nature of these allegations points to an urgent public safety concern. The presence of a poisonous substance in a public setting endangers community pets and children in addition to community cats.

We urge your offices to open a thorough criminal investigation, collect toxicology and forensic evidence, review available cameras, and interview witnesses. If the facts substantiate intentional poisoning, please file all applicable charges. We also ask you to deploy immediate deterrents, including public alerts, surveillance in the affected zone, removal of hazardous materials, and cooperation with animal welfare groups to safeguard the colony.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
