Goal: Prosecute the man accused of assaulting a dog and his owner with a box cutter to the fullest extent.
A dog in New York, nicknamed Chance, has found another chance at life following a horrific ordeal. Chance was reportedly stabbed in his neck during an incident that also left his owner injured. The injury impacted Chance’s jugular vein and led to massive blood loss that required a transfusion. Chance also apparently suffered heart problems that required multiple surgeries. Thanks to the efforts of a Humane CNY care team as well as an outpouring of community support, the brave pit bull is on a promising road to recovery in a foster home.
The man who stands accused of nearly killing Chance and seriously harming his owner must face accountability. Raqueeb A. Shadreem has been arrested on several felony charges, including aggravated animal cruelty. He allegedly attacked Chance with a box cutter for no reason after using the weapon on the other victim in the case.
Sign the petition below to urge prosecutors to treat the animal cruelty charges with the same seriousness as the related charges.

Dear DA Fitzpatrick,
Suspect Raqueeb A. Shadreem has been charged with attacking a man and his pet dog with a box cutter. The reported injuries nearly killed the dog, whose resilience has become a source of inspiration among the local community. Both Chance and his owner need justice.
Please seek maximum penalties for all charges if the suspect is deemed guilty – including the aggravated animal cruelty allegations – and do not dishonor these victims (or the many individuals who rallied for them) with a plea deal.

I’m so glad Chance will be ok, but what’s NOT ok is what has happened to him and that monster who did it is still walking around free! Before he hurts another animal, Please put him behind bars where he belongs!!!!

Well it gives me some idea of what this piece of shit needs by a dedicated and ‘fired up’ animal vigilante group to teach him the error of his ways! No poxy ‘plea deals’ or bonds or whatever. Either charge him and let him be at the mercy of other inmates, or let the bastard go so he can be hunted down and taken care of by anyone who feels strongly enough to seriously incapacitate the sod.
