Animals Reportedly Starved and Driven to Eat Carcasses Deserve Justice

Target: Kevin R. Steele, District Attorney of Montgomery County, PA

Goal: Prosecute animal sanctuary operators accused of neglect and starvation to fullest extent.

When a fire destroyed the House of Wiggle animal barn sanctuary in Pennsylvania, animal lovers were quick to lend their support via a GoFundMe campaign. Photos of the surviving animals, many with catchy names, led to tens of thousands of dollars in donations for rebuilding. But authorities and rescuers allege that behind the cute pictures and inspirational stories lurked a deadly darkness.

After volunteers arrived on the scene to help in the aftermath of the fire, they recounted horrific images of animals – reportedly severely emaciated and infested with parasites — consuming the carcasses of other animals. Law enforcement who were investigating the fire also reported severely emaciated goats and pigs with bones protruding. One potbellied pig who had been dropped off at the sanctuary slightly overweight was said to be almost unrecognizable and skeletal months later. The individuals in charge of the sanctuary also apparently engaged in a practice wherein animal carcasses were transformed into compost.

Erin and Michael Wiggle were charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty, including two felony counts of animal torture. Sign the petition below to ensure these suspects face the full measure of justice if they are found guilty.

PETITION LETER:

Dear DA Steele,

The allegations against Michael and Erin Wiggle and their House of Wiggle Goats sanctuary cannot be taken lightly. These individuals promoted themselves as champions and lovers of animals to the point where other animal lovers were compelled to gift them with about $70,000 in donations following the fire at their barn. But if these kind-hearted donors had seen the heartbreaking images of alleged malnutrition and severe emaciation that investigators and volunteer rescuers reportedly witnessed rather than sanitized photos of cute animals, the outcome would have likely been very different.

Alleged neglect on such a massive and expansive scale demonstrates an apparent pervasive, troubling pattern of reckless and callous disregard for life that must be unequivocally condemned. Please pursue every charge and seek the maximum possible punishment if these heinous charges are proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
