Rabbit Reportedly Hurled onto Hot Sand and Buried: Demand Swift Prosecution

Target: Kerati Kaenkaew, Chief Prosecutor, Chon Buri Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, Thailand

Goal: File and pursue the highest applicable animal‑cruelty charges, seek maximum sentencing, and impose a lifetime ban on owning or handling animals for the man allegedly seen throwing and burying a rabbit.

A widely shared clip reportedly shows a beachgoer repeatedly flinging a rabbit high into the air and letting it slam into hot sand. He then allegedly poured sand over the animal as if to bury it. The witness who filmed the scene stated the rabbit had already been thrown four or five times before the recorded segment. The footage sparked immediate outrage after being posted in a Thai rabbit‑care community.

The poster later claimed the man, using a Facebook account name, contacted him and threatened legal action unless the video was removed. Despite the alleged intimidation, the witness refused to delete the evidence. Online commenters expressed horror, noting that rabbits are delicate and should never be exposed to abrasive sand or extreme heat.

Robust enforcement is crucial to deter future cruelty and protect vulnerable animals. Sign below to demand that prosecutors promptly bring charges, pursue the harshest penalties allowed under Thai law, and request a permanent prohibition on animal ownership or employment involving animals. Anything less risks signaling tolerance for blatant, recorded cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Prosecutor Kaenkaew,

We are deeply troubled by reports and viral footage that allegedly show a man throwing a rabbit into the air multiple times at Bang Saen Beach, allowing it to crash onto hot sand, and then pouring sand over the animal. The witness also claims the individual later contacted him online and allegedly threatened to sue if the video was not removed. Such conduct, if proven, represents deliberate infliction of fear, pain, and potential injury on a fragile companion animal.

Thailand’s animal‑welfare laws provide mechanisms to address egregious cruelty. We respectfully urge your office to file the most serious charges supported by the evidence, pursue maximum sentencing on each count, and seek a lifetime ban on owning, keeping, or working with animals. Court‑ordered counseling should also be considered to help prevent future incidents.

A firm, transparent response will show that recorded acts of alleged cruelty will not be ignored and that Chon Buri values the safety and dignity of all animals. Please use every legal tool available to ensure accountability and protect other animals from similar harm.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
