Animals Allegedly Abused by So-Called Rescuer Deserve Justice

Target: Steven R. Finney, District Attorney for Carter County, TN

Goal: Prosecute case involving 30 allegedly neglected and mistreated animals to fullest extent.

Neither traditional pets, exotic animals, nor farm animals were apparently safe at one Tennessee residence. Authorities in Elizabethton seized 30 animals from a home. Dogs, rabbits, lemurs, and snakes were among the animals reportedly rescued.

Several complaints from concerned citizens led to a welfare check. After finding signs of alleged mistreatment and neglect, authorities took the animals to various recovery centers. More disturbing still, the unidentified individual reportedly serving as the animals’ caretaker was said to be affiliated with an animal rescue operation.

Despite the deeply concerning nature of this incident, no charges have apparently resulted. Sign the petition below to demand local prosecutors treat this case with the seriousness it deserves.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Finney,

The seizure of dozens of animals from an Elizabethton residence raises serious concerns. Numerous contacts were reportedly made to a local shelter regarding the welfare of these exotic, farm, and domestic animals. The animals were allegedly connected to an animal rescue organization, which would make any abuse or cruelty potentially committed against them even more egregious. Yet according to reports, no further legal action has been taken in this matter following the animals’ seizure.

Good Samaritans who report suspected abuse need to know that their involvement will result in meaningful action. Please follow this case through to a just conclusion and secure justice if any innocent living beings were willfully and intentionally harmed.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
