Target: Donna Dixon, Commonwealth’s Attorney of McCracken County, Kentucky
Goal: Secure the maximum felony sentence, lifetime animal-ownership ban, and court-mandated counseling for the accused individual who reportedly confined 32 dogs in stacked crates—leaving one in such dire shape it was euthanized on-site.
Dozens of terrified dogs were reportedly discovered jammed inside crates stacked from floor to ceiling. Responding deputies purportedly found layers of waste coating each cage and the surrounding room. One canine was apparently in such critical condition that veterinarians had no option but humane euthanasia, underscoring the profound suffering these animals are said to have endured.
Investigators allegedly removed 32 dogs from this makeshift prison. Photographs and deputy accounts depict emaciated bodies, festering sores, and crates so small the animals could scarcely turn around. Authorities have filed 19 felony and 13 misdemeanor counts linked to this case, reflecting the extreme severity of the purported neglect.
Unless courts deliver a strong penalty—including incarceration, a permanent prohibition on possessing animals, and psychological evaluation—the message sent to potential offenders is that such cruelty carries minimal consequences. Swift and decisive justice is essential to honor the life lost and protect other animals from similar torment.
PETITION LETTER:
Commonwealth’s Attorney Dixon,
Law-enforcement officers reportedly rescued 32 dogs crammed into cages stacked one upon another inside a local residence. Conditions were described as so deplorable that layers of excrement coated the cages, and an animal was allegedly suffering to such an extent that on-site euthanasia became the only humane option.
The felony and misdemeanor charges now before your office represent more than numbers; they reflect immense, preventable pain apparently experienced by living beings wholly dependent on human care. Past lenient sentences in comparable cases have too often failed to deter repeat or copycat offenses, leaving vulnerable animals at continued risk.
We respectfully urge you to pursue the maximum penalties allowed by law, to insist on a lifetime ban on animal ownership, and to request comprehensive psychological evaluation and treatment. A stern, precedent-setting sentence will affirm that deliberate or reckless cruelty toward animals will not be tolerated.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]
