If there was a dispute, there is at least one other person who contributed to the starvation and death of this dog!!! Charge them ALL for harming this innocent dog!!!
Agreed. The whole household had to know. How can you see a dog or cat pr any animal in that shape and allow it??? This whole family had to be punished for that. It’s the basics 101 of owning an animal…FOOD WATER. What is o damn hard about giving the dog away if you can’t feed it? Those people had options…..I for one am so tired of reading and hearing about this kind of treatment.

So the dog was rescued but could not be saved or was it just cheaper and less time consuming to let the poor soul die. Put on a drip and slowly re nourished would have saved its life if anyone had cared enough to do it. Where are the names and addresses of the creatures who did this and why are they not in jail? Do these southern states have any morals or ethics towards pets at all or are these inbreds just feral scum?

A ravenous animal will eat anything that moves if it is starving- fact.
But then, so would humans as it is a brain implanted thing to secure anything sort of edible, or ‘part edible’ to keep alive! It was far worse for this dog as it would smell the cooking food and would then get none whilst these sick bastards were eating and who could not give a toss. Being starved is one of the worse tortures that anyone could inflict upon an animal.
The prat’s on telly programmes who are heard to often say, “Oh I’m starving” DO NOT have a fucking clue what it is like to be starved to death.
Maybe dear submitter, you should try and see how long you could go without food and drink but I do not think you would get very far before you succumbed, unlike the poor dog that had no choice because of these nasty torturing sods!

The people who rescue the dog make every effort to save them. But sometimes, they are just too far gone. When I was in school, my teacher told us that sometimes after a child has been starved, the shock of eating again kills them. I was horrified. But this poor dog was starved so severely, his organs probably began shutting down. Please don’t kick the people who were trying to save him. I’m sure they went home crying. It takes it’s toll on them too, you know.

This dog’s coat looks good, which is a sign of proper care.
The question is what caused the dog to lose weight?
I wonder if it was dying naturally of something other than withholding food? like age? Or illness that couldn’t be cured?
The reality is that every living being eventually dies.
Dying is not necessarily a sign of neglect.
Animals have died naturally without paying for vet intervention since the beginning of time!
There is a natural dying process that includes stopping eating & drinking a few days prior to dying. In that stage, animals don’t take food or water because their bodies know they no longer need it. Their bodies release natural painkillers and they generally do not die in a lot of pain during the natural dying process. The best place for a pet to die is at home where they are at peace.
A lot of so called rescuers see a dog in the natural dying process and think they’ve been neglected or starved. And believe that it is more humane to let a vet kill your pet when they’re dying naturally. But euthanasia is not healthcare. It is killing. And some pet owners rightfully choose to allow their pets to die in peace at home often surrounded by love ones and not by lethal injection.
Faith, what are you smoking? The vet at the emergency clinic stated the dog was malnourished. Did you even open the link and read the article? It is people like you that contribute to the deterioration of our society!

Reality check. Vets aren’t experts in all breeds. They don’t always know what they’re talking about. They inject pharmaceutical chemicals & all sorts of poisons in them, give them pills that kill & make them sick, & put chemicals topically on our pets. Which shortens their lifespan. When we can manage things like fleas with natural products that work way better and won’t make them sick. Vets guilt people into allowing them to schedule their pets death by lethal injection. It’s for money. Not for your pet’s good!
