Free Beagles From Alleged Torture in Experimental Breeding Facility

Target: Tim Gruenke, La Crosse County, Wisconsin District Attorney

Goal: Ensure a thorough investigation and appropriate legal action against alleged animal cruelty at Ridglan Farms.

Animal rights advocates have long raised concerns about the conditions at Ridglan Farms, one of only two large-scale dog breeding facilities in the country that supplies animals for experimentation. Reports over the years have suggested that thousands of beagles have endured distressing conditions, confined to cages with little regard for their welfare. Despite these serious allegations, previous complaints have gone largely unaddressed.

The recent appointment of Special Prosecutor Tim Gruenke to investigate marks a critical turning point in this case. This investigation follows a legal complaint filed by advocacy groups, which urged the courts to take action against the alleged mistreatment at Ridglan Farms. With mounting evidence and increasing public outcry, this case demands a full, transparent investigation to determine if any violations of animal cruelty laws have occurred.

Dogs are sentient beings capable of feeling pain, fear, and suffering. If Ridglan Farms has indeed subjected these animals to prolonged mistreatment, justice must be served. The investigation must be thorough and, if evidence of cruelty is confirmed, those responsible must be held fully accountable under the law. Sign below and demand prosecutors ensure that animal protection laws are enforced and that any facility found guilty of mistreating animals faces appropriate legal consequences.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Gruenke,

Your appointment as a special prosecutor to investigate alleged animal cruelty at Ridglan Farms is a crucial step toward ensuring justice for thousands of beagles reportedly subjected to inhumane conditions. For years, animal welfare organizations have voiced concerns about the treatment of these animals, yet complaints have gone largely unheeded. The evidence now presented must be carefully examined, and any violations of Wisconsin’s animal protection laws must be met with appropriate legal action.

The reported suffering endured by the beagles at Ridglan Farms is deeply troubling. Dogs are intelligent, sentient beings that deserve humane treatment. If investigations confirm that these animals have been mistreated or neglected, those responsible must face the full extent of the law. Ensuring accountability is not only a matter of justice but also a step toward strengthening protections for animals nationwide.

We urge you to conduct a full and transparent investigation and, if warranted, prosecute any individuals or entities found to have engaged in unlawful cruelty. Thousands of lives may depend on the outcome of this case, and we trust that your office will act in the best interest of justice and animal welfare.

Sincerely,

This breeding prison(Ridglan Farms)outside of Mt. Horeb WI is just 25 minutes from where I live. I know a few of the people who work their…many of them are good people who don’t get that after these poor beagles leave Ridglan that they are sent to testing facilities to be injected with toxins, vocal cords cut, put in small cages to be bitten by thousands of sand flies, and others tortured in procedures done to them and later killed…it’s horrible what
these poor dogs are subjected to and the suffering. SHUT DOWN RIDGLAN FARMS, ALL BEAGLE BREEDING FARMS AND ALL ANIMAL BREEDING FACILITIES ALONG WITH LABORATORIES AND TESTING FACILITIES.
