People who abuse and are cruel to animals, do this type of behavior not only because they are psychopaths, they can get away with it!! Because animal cruelty is NOT taken seriously by legislators, LEOs, DAs, judges, these POS criminals are emboldened to commit crimes against animals. The laws to protect animals are so loosely defined that these scumbags animal abusers literally get away with the murder, maiming, abuse, and neglect of companion animals. People need to rise up and lobby their legislators (local, state, federal) to make companion animals a priority! First and foremost is to change the law to deem these animals as sentient beings and NOT property!!
