Stop Outbreak of Dog Deaths Along ‘Corridor of Cruelty’

Target: Kim Ogg, Harris County District Attorney, Texas

Goal: Prosecute individuals responsible for throwing puppies from a moving vehicle and other acts of animal cruelty.

A series of deeply disturbing incidents have occurred in an area known as the “Corridor of Cruelty” in northeast Houston. Animal welfare advocates have found multiple dead dogs placed in plastic bags and dumped along the roadside. One advocate discovered four dead dogs in just two days, with at least one dog having its neck and head skinned, suggesting intentional harm.

In a separate incident, witnesses say that puppies were thrown from a moving truck, resulting in severe injuries. One puppy had to be humanely euthanized due to internal bleeding, while another was rescued and is now safe. These acts of cruelty highlight a pattern of deliberate harm inflicted upon innocent animals in the area.

Such heinous actions are not only morally reprehensible but also illegal under animal cruelty laws. It is imperative that authorities thoroughly investigate these incidents, identify those responsible, and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Prevent future acts of animal abuse and send a strong message that such cruelty will not be tolerated.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Ogg,

I am writing to express deep concern over the recent reports of severe animal cruelty in northeast Houston’s “Corridor of Cruelty.” Multiple dead dogs have been found dumped in plastic bags along the roadside, with at least one dog having its neck and head skinned. Additionally, witnesses say that puppies were thrown from a moving truck, resulting in the death of one and severe injury to others.

These disturbing incidents suggest a pattern of deliberate and heinous cruelty towards innocent animals. Such actions are not only abhorrent but also constitute serious violations of animal welfare laws designed to protect animals from harm.

I urge your office to prioritize the investigation of these incidents and to prosecute those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. By doing so, you can help ensure justice for the animals that have suffered and deter future acts of cruelty in our community.

Sincerely,
