Demand Justice for Cat Allegedly Drugged Without Vet Supervision During TV Filming

Target: Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand

Goal: Ensure full prosecution of individuals reportedly responsible for unauthorized sedation of a cat during TV production.

A black cat named Samlee was reportedly sedated by an unqualified individual during the filming of the Thai historical series, The Empress of Ayodhaya. Concerns arose when the cat appeared to die after consuming poisoned tea in a scene, leading to allegations that the production team used anesthesia without proper veterinary supervision. This act allegedly endangered the animal’s life and violated animal welfare laws.

Investigations by the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) reportedly revealed that the cat’s owner personally administered anesthesia to Samlee without any veterinary certification. The owner admitted to lacking formal qualifications but claimed to have experience caring for animals. The series’ director initially defended the action, asserting it was carried out by a qualified expert, but authorities have since disputed this claim.

Such alleged mistreatment of animals in the entertainment industry is unacceptable and highlights the need for strict enforcement of animal welfare regulations. It is imperative that those reportedly responsible are held accountable to prevent future incidents of animal cruelty. Demand that the authorities prosecute the individuals involved to the fullest extent of the law to ensure justice for Samlee and uphold animal welfare standards.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Minister Narumon Pinyosinwat,

I am writing to express deep concern over reports involving the unauthorized sedation of a cat named Samlee during the filming of the television series The Empress of Ayodhaya. It has been alleged that the cat’s owner, without any veterinary qualifications, personally administered anesthesia to the animal to make a scene appear more realistic. If true, this action not only endangered the cat’s life but also violated animal welfare laws designed to protect animals from unnecessary harm.

The Department of Livestock Development has reportedly initiated legal action against both the cat’s owner and a member of the production team. Such incidents appear to highlight a troubling disregard for the well-being of animals within the entertainment industry. It is essential that animals are treated ethically and that legal regulations are strictly enforced to prevent abuse.

I urge you to ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted and that those reportedly responsible are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. By taking decisive action, you can help prevent future instances of animal cruelty and reinforce the importance of humane treatment of animals in all sectors.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
