Demand Justice for Horses Allegedly Deprived of Water, Food, and Care

Target: Kevin R. Steele, Montgomery County District Attorney, Pennsylvania

Goal: Ensure woman faces the maximum legal penalty for alleged cruelty and neglect of horses under her care.

A deeply troubling case of animal cruelty has surfaced in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, where a 78-year-old woman, Virginia Rose Stack, is facing felony charges for allegedly failing to care for six horses boarded on her property. Potential customers who visited Stack’s stable on Keystone Road reportedly found the horses in horrific conditions, with no access to water and one horse, in particular, appearing emaciated with severely overgrown hooves that made movement nearly impossible.

The SPCA alleges that these animals were forced to live in unsanitary conditions, with stalls so filled with compacted manure that the horses’ heads almost touched the barn’s ceiling. Despite offers of help, Stack reportedly refused assistance and failed to act, leaving the horses to suffer in inhumane conditions.

Officers with the SPCA and Richland Township police obtained a search warrant and allegedly found that the horses were in dire condition, with serious neglect evident in their appearance and living environment. One of the horses, a stallion named “Chip,” was reportedly in such poor health that he struggled to walk due to severely overgrown and misshapen hooves.

Although Stack had the opportunity to surrender the horses, she refused, leaving the animals in her care for an extended period of suffering. The SPCA has since seized the horses and is holding Stack financially responsible for their medical care. Stack now faces felony charges, including aggravated animal cruelty, with additional misdemeanor and summary offenses.

This case highlights not only the alleged cruelty of one individual but also the need for stricter regulations and oversight of animal boarding facilities in Pennsylvania. Ensure animals do not endure such prolonged suffering.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Kevin R. Steele,

I am writing to express my grave concern regarding the case of alleged aggravated animal cruelty involving Virginia Rose Stack, who operated a stable in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania SPCA has brought to light the appalling conditions in which six horses were allegedly found on her property. These horses were reportedly deprived of water, forced to live in unsanitary stalls filled with compacted manure, and suffered from severe neglect, including overgrown hooves and emaciation.

It is shocking that such a situation could apparently persist for so long, despite the visible suffering of these animals. The fact that one of the horses, Chip, allegedly struggled to walk due to severely misshapen hooves is a stark reminder of the impact of neglect. Despite offers of help from concerned visitors and the Pennsylvania SPCA, it appears that Stack did not take action to address the well-being of these horses.

I urge you to pursue the maximum legal penalties against Virginia Rose Stack for the alleged crimes she has committed. This includes holding her fully accountable for the suffering she inflicted on these animals.

Animal cruelty is an issue that must not be tolerated in any form, and justice must be served for the horses that endured such terrible treatment.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
