Demand Justice for 150 Cats Reportedly Rescued from Hoarding Home

Target: Andrew Bailey, Missouri Attorney General

Goal: Ensure a thorough investigation into potential animal hoarding case, and provide resources and support to local animal shelters caring for more than 150 rescued cats.

A shocking case of apparent animal hoarding has surfaced in Wildwood, Missouri, where officials allegedly removed over 150 cats from a home after receiving a welfare check call on August 28. When St. Louis County officers arrived at the home, they reportedly discovered more than 60 cats inside, along with two adults. The conditions were reportedly so severe that St. Louis County Animal Care & Control officers were called in to remove the animals.

In addition to the overwhelming number of cats, reports indicate that dead cats were found in a deep freezer on the property. The situation has raised significant concerns about both animal and elder abuse, with family members alleging that they had tried to involve police for over a year. Carolyn Haydon, whose mother and father lived in the home, expressed fears of neglect and mistreatment, stating that her mother’s death may have been linked to ongoing neglect.

The local animal shelters that have taken in the rescued cats are now pleading for help to clear space and care for these animals. This case highlights the urgent need for thorough investigation into the abuse and neglect at the home, as well as for the community to step forward and support the overwhelmed shelters caring for these cats.

Call on authorities to take proper action.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear AG Andrew Bailey,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent case of apparent animal hoarding in Wildwood, Missouri, where over 150 cats were allegedly rescued from a home in severely neglected conditions. According to reports, officers found more than 60 cats inside the house, along with deceased animals stored in a freezer. Additionally, there are concerns of elder abuse and possible neglect leading to the death of one of the residents.

This case demands a thorough investigation to uncover the full extent of the alleged abuse and neglect, both toward the animals and the elderly individuals involved. It is crucial that those responsible for this hoarding situation are held accountable under the law to prevent such suffering from continuing.

Furthermore, the shelters that have taken in these rescued animals are overwhelmed and in need of urgent support. I urge your office to not only investigate this case fully but also to work with the community to provide the resources and care necessary for the animals that have survived this horrific ordeal.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. The two adults;ts need to pay ALL expenses for medical attention for the cats and also to enlarge and assist the shelter where the cats are being held. No that the cats are out, the two adults should be forced to live in the house. Don’t let them out until they give the money needed to take care of all the cats. Take their savings, their home, their cars, everything they own. Animals are not to be treated like this and they are criminals which the law should throw in prison for years or in a mental institution for life.
