Save Wildlife: Call for Strict Punishment of Alleged Poachers

Target: Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Orissa, India

Goal: Ensure individuals allegedly involved in poaching activities face stringent legal consequences for their actions.

A significant breakthrough in the fight against wildlife poaching occurred recently in the Similipal South Wildlife Division in India’s Orissa, where five individuals were reportedly caught in the act of preparing for illegal hunting. Acting on confidential intelligence and photographic evidence captured by IR trap cameras, a dedicated team from the Forest Department arrested the accused, who were identified as Karunakar Mallik, Kartika Bhakta, Bhola Bhakta, Gunu Bhakta, and Rabi Bhakta, from Besarpani village. These individuals are accused of engaging in illegal poaching activities within the Pithabata South Wildlife Range.

The arrests led to the seizure of numerous items reportedly intended for hunting, including three unloaded guns, one loaded gun, 100 grams of gunpowder, various snares, and other equipment typically used for trapping and killing wildlife. Such equipment, allegedly found during raids on their residences, indicates a planned and deliberate attempt to harm protected wildlife species. These actions appear to represent a severe violation of wildlife protection laws and reflect a blatant disregard for the conservation efforts within the region.

The alleged actions of these individuals are a direct threat to the rich biodiversity and ecological balance of Similipal. It is imperative that the accused poachers are held accountable under the full extent of the law, including provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and the Arms Act, 1959. Deter future poaching activities and to protect the invaluable wildlife and natural heritage of India.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear CM Majhi,

I am writing to urge a thorough and stringent legal response regarding the recent arrests of five individuals accused of poaching activities within the Similipal South Wildlife Division. These individuals, identified as Karunakar Mallik, Kartika Bhakta, Bhola Bhakta, Gunu Bhakta, and Rabi Bhakta, were reportedly apprehended with a significant cache of illegal firearms, gunpowder, snares, and other hunting equipment within the Pithabata South Wildlife Range.

According to reports, the accused were captured through a combination of intelligence efforts and photographic evidence, indicating a deliberate attempt to engage in illegal hunting activities. The possession of these weapons and trapping devices appears to pose a severe threat to the protected wildlife within Similipal and highlights a blatant disregard for the laws designed to safeguard our natural environment.

It is essential that your esteemed office ensures that these individuals are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and the Arms Act, 1959. By taking decisive action, you will not only bring justice for the endangered species threatened by these alleged actions but also reinforce the importance of wildlife conservation and the rule of law.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. These stupid, heartless, men deserve no mercy as they would have shown none due to the amount of equipment they carried intending to use. All 5 men are guilty and are a burden to India attempting to correct its reputation with regard to its animals and wildlife. I think poachers are the worst part of humanity. They kill for money, having no regard for the earth, other peoples and countries. I feel they should pay with their lives. These men are cowards and if they understand they will be killed for their crimes, they won’t be interested in doing so many crimes. The climate crises demands we do better , we must think about our actions and the result. These men are a waste and society need not be burdened by them.

  2. Poaching is such a terrible act to commit. All poachers needs to be automatically sent to prison for life. WIth climate change, and too many people in our world, the act of poaching needs to send poachers directly to prison for life. Nothing less will stop these greedy monsters. And should they harm or kill in their operations then shoot the bastards where they stand. Do to them what they do to others. Men can be monsters if allowed to be that way. To stop men you must make an example of them. Poaching is as bad as murder. The courts must see this crime in that manner and send these bastards away where they will be forgotten. A life sentence!
