Dogs Allegedly Found Dead on Property Deserve Justice

Target: Josh Stein, North Carolina Attorney General

Goal: Demand justice for two dogs who died due to alleged abuse and neglect.

A shocking case of alleged animal cruelty has surfaced in Kinston, North Carolina, where Randy Avon Thompson and Mary Lou Thompson have been charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty after two dead dogs were reportedly found on their property. The investigation, initiated by Lenoir County Animal Control, reportedly revealed deeply disturbing conditions that led to the deaths of these innocent animals. The Thompsons now face four felony counts of animal cruelty and four misdemeanor counts of improper disposal of a domestic animal.

Randy Thompson is currently held without bond, while Mary Lou Thompson has been released on a $10,000 unsecured bond. The incident has sparked outrage in the community, highlighting the urgent need for stronger enforcement of animal welfare laws to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Animal cruelty is a grave offense, and it is essential that the legal system takes these cases seriously to deter future abuse. Stand together to demand justice for these animals and ensure that those responsible are held fully accountable under the law. Push for stricter animal welfare regulations to protect all animals in North Carolina from cruelty.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear AG Josh Stein,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent case of alleged animal cruelty in Kinston, North Carolina, involving Randy and Mary Lou Thompson. The reported discovery of dead dogs on their property is a tragic reminder of the severe consequences of alleged neglect and mistreatment of animals.

The Thompsons have been charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor counts related to this case, and it is imperative that they face full legal consequences for their alleged actions. Animal cruelty is a serious offense that should not be tolerated, and it is crucial that the legal system in North Carolina acts decisively to ensure justice for these innocent animals.

I urge you to take this case as an opportunity to strengthen animal welfare laws in our state and ensure that cruelty is met with appropriate legal repercussions. We must protect the voiceless creatures in our society and prevent future instances of abuse and neglect.

Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.

Sincerely,

  1. It took two to kill these dogs and both parties need to answer for their crimes. Mary Lou has been allowed to walk away on a $10,000.00 fine. Her husband got stuck with all the felonies? Felonies don’t mean immediate dates in a Court of Law. They should. But they don’t. Our stand of law is disgusting. We have no law, not really. Our courts are awful as the judges who preside over them. America is the land of law but no justice. These dead dogs deserve justice. If they had been your pets or your kids, you’d hope for justice. The law for those who can not carry guns and defend themselves needs to be tough! And it must be enforceable! No excuses, no exceptions.

    • Totally agree with you! WNc has an invisible Dir of Humane Society who should be leading the charge to enforce what little laws we have to protect animals. We need a citizens action committee for animals.

  2. The two monsters should be put away
