Demand Justice for Dog Allegedly Mutilated and Neglected to Death

Target: Hon. Raymond Tierney, Suffolk County District Attorney, New York State

Goal: Urge stricter legal action against David Iglesias for alleged animal cruelty and ensure he is held accountable for his actions.

In a deeply disturbing case of alleged animal cruelty, David Iglesias of Bellport, Long Island, has been charged in connection with the tragic death of his dog, Niva. According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, Niva was severely injured in an attack by Iglesias’ other dog in November 2022. Instead of seeking immediate medical care, Iglesias allegedly cut off her injured ears and attempted to close the wounds with glue, keeping her confined in his basement. Weeks later, in December 2022, he finally took Niva to a veterinarian, where she was reportedly found in septic shock and near death. Due to the alleged severity of her injuries, Niva was euthanized..

The necropsy reportedly revealed extensive injuries, including repetitive puncture wounds on her limbs, a mostly missing right ear, and a large wound where her left ear once was. Iglesias has been arraigned on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals, and clipping/cutting ears of dogs. Although released on his own recognizance due to non-bail eligible charges, he is barred from owning or possessing any animals while his case proceeds. Urge stricter legal action against David Iglesias for the alleged animal cruelty

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Hon. Raymond Tierney,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent case of alleged animal cruelty involving David Iglesias in Bellport, Long Island. The distressing details of this case, where Iglesias allegedly mutilated his injured dog, Niva, and seemingly neglected her veterinary care, leading to her tragic death, highlight a suspected disregard for animal welfare.

It appears that Niva suffered immensely due to the actions of Iglesias, who reportedly cut off her injured ears and attempted to close the wounds with glue. This neglect continued for weeks until Niva was finally taken to a veterinarian in septic shock, where she had to be euthanized due to the severity of her injuries, according to reports. The necropsy allegedly revealed extensive injuries, including repetitive puncture wounds and severe mutilation.

It is imperative that these apparent acts of cruelty are met with the strictest legal consequences to ensure justice for Niva and to send a clear message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated. I urge your office to pursue this case with the utmost diligence and to seek the maximum penalties available under the law.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
