As with everyone else, I really hope that the Law-enforcers hand down a punishment sufficiently tough that it will give others leave to consider their actions before treating innocent little pups so disgracefully.
Beyond a custodial sentence, the perpetrators should also pay a huge fine to cover [a] a reward to the person who rescued little Shelly just in time; [b] Cobb County Animal Services who brought her back from the brink of death, accommodated her in order to treat, feed and show her the affection she didn’t get previously.
On top of that, a huge donation to the local animal shelter that looks after lost, abandoned, abused little furry-souls until they can find a Forever Home. In other words, a financial burden to those responsible for this poor little girl which would far outweigh the cost of any medical treatment that she might have needed before they chucked her into the bin.

Let us be the light this world needs, compassion towards animals is holy sign of God’s presence in our hearts. I can’t think of a more shameful crime than harming a defenseless innocent being. That’s utterly disgusting.
