Alleged Mismanagement of Stray Dog Sterilization Needs Urgent Attention

Target: Monika Gupta, Add. District Attorney – District Courts, Ludhiana, India

Goal: Ensure transparent and ethical management of the stray dog sterilization program

Reports have emerged of alleged mismanagement within India’s Ludhiana district’s stray dog sterilization program, known as the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program. Over the past three years, around 48,000 stray dogs were reportedly sterilized. However, there are concerns about the effectiveness and ethical handling of this initiative under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney. Addressing these allegations is crucial to ensure the program operates transparently and benefits the community and the animals it intends to protect.

Further inquiries suggest that despite the large number of sterilizations, the program’s management involves questionable practices needing immediate scrutiny. There are also proposals for enhancing the infrastructure, like establishing an operation theatre at the Animal Birth Control Centre and ensuring the equipment’s adequacy, highlighting ongoing deficiencies. These alleged shortcomings compromise animal welfare, community safety, and trust in public initiatives.

This petition demands urgent, transparent reforms and accountability in managing the ABC program. The well-being of thousands of animals and the trust of community members are at stake. Call for an official investigation into the alleged mismanagement and for immediate corrective measures to safeguard both animal and human interests.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear ADA Monika Gupta,

Concerns have been raised regarding the alleged mismanagement and ethical concerns within the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program under your supervision. Reportedly, although 48,000 stray dogs have been sterilized, the program’s effectiveness and ethical standards remain questioned. As community members deeply invested in animal welfare and public accountability, we seek clarity and assurance that these initiatives are carried out responsibly.

The alleged issues within the program affect animal welfare and community trust in how public resources are managed and initiatives are implemented. Proposals to improve the program’s infrastructure suggest recognition of its current deficiencies. These concerns must be addressed promptly to ensure the program can effectively fulfill its intended purpose without compromising ethical standards.

Therefore, we urge you to immediately review the program’s management practices, disclose the findings publicly, and implement necessary reforms that ensure both transparency and efficacy in the ABC program. The community and the animals deserve a program that operates with integrity and respect for all stakeholders.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
