Stop Reportedly Abusing Racing Horses With Electric Shock Devices

Target: Andrew Jones, Racing Victoria CEO, Australia

Goal: Ensure those allegedly involved in animal cruelty face legal consequences

In a disturbing revelation, it has come to light that individuals linked to the racing industry allegedly used electric shock devices, known as jiggers, on horses. This act, reportedly committed on the eve of the 2018 Melbourne Cup carnival, has ignited a wave of outrage. The accused include a Melbourne Cup-winning trainer, who, along with two associates, allegedly subjected three horses to this cruel treatment.

Details emerging from the investigation describe the use of jiggers on Yogi, Red Cardinal, and Tosen Basil during treadmill runs. Such actions not only violate ethical standards but also betray the trust placed in these individuals by the public and the animals in their care. This alleged mistreatment was brought to attention after a 15-minute clip, utilized in legal proceedings, prompted Racing Victoria to levy 10 new industry charges against each of the accused, encompassing corrupt conduct and animal cruelty.

The necessity for a resolute stance against such alleged cruelty cannot be overstated. These actions, if proven, not only tarnish the reputation of the racing industry but also highlight a grave disregard for animal welfare. Racing Victoria must take decisive action to ensure that anyone found guilty of such conduct faces appropriate legal repercussions. Uphold the integrity of the sport and take the welfare of the animals involved seriously.

  1. Jacqueline “Torture the S*** says:

End the Abusive horse racing ind!!!!

  2. Anyone who has to use torture devices clearly has zero training ability and has no placd around any animal. What happened to actually having training skills? Pathetic. Austrailian racing should hang their heads in shame. Any country found using these devices should be banned forever from global racing meets
