Starving Cat Abandoned in Dumpster Deserves Justice

Target: Tony Guy, Sheriff of Beaver County, PA

Goal: Investigate animal cruelty case that nearly resulted in fatality to fullest extent.

Dumpsters have become an unfortunate hot spot for animal cruelty. One of the latest cases involves a tabby cat that was found inside a Pennsylvania dumpster by a passerby. The cat, estimated to be around two or three years old, was reportedly in a severely emaciated state.

Empty food bowls were on-site, indicating the feline had been in the dumpster for a long time (feces and urine also covered the poor animal). Worse yet, he was imprisoned inside a small, worn cat carrier. Since the cat was said to be too big for the carrier, he had limited to no mobility.

This traumatized animal is being cared for by a local humane society with hopes for eventual adoption. Sign the petition below to urge investigators to remain vigilant in finding the responsible parties for this disturbing crime of cruel abandonment.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Sheriff Guy,

Often, the most vicious cruelty against living beings does not result from action but rather inaction. A resilient cat found crammed into a tiny carrier and tossed into a dumpster is testament. If not for the prompt intervention of a good Samaritan, this animal would have likely starved slowly and painfully, covered in his own excrement.

While his case had a hopeful ending, it could have just as easily concluded in tragedy…like so many similar incidents across the state and the country. Such callous cruelty can only be curbed by transforming inaction into action. Please do not abandon this animal once again. Send a decisive message by devoting time and resources to identifying and apprehending the culprit or culprits who were willing to throw an innocent life away.

Sincerely,
