Dog Reportedly Abandoned Inside Filthy Dumpster Deserves Justice

Target: St. Louis, Missouri Sheriff Vernon Betts

Goal: Find, investigate, and arrest the person who allegedly threw their dog away like trash.

A docile dog named Malea was allegedly abandoned by her owner inside a dumpster. Malea likely would have died if it had not been for a witness informing Stray Rescue of St. Louis Shelter staff officials about the reported incident. Whoever is reportedly responsible for this heartless act needs to be thoroughly investigated and arrested, if applicable, to better ensure they will not be able to abuse or neglect more animals.

Staff members indicated that it was extremely hot inside the dumpster where Malea was found and said she was lucky not to have passed out. Sadly, the shelter does not currently have room for Malea, as is often the case when animals are abandoned by their owners. They need to find a foster home for her as soon as possible, or she may be euthanized. Sign this petition to demand police investigate this case and to further insist they arrest and charge the person who allegedly committed this unforgivable crime, so that other dogs will not be forced to endure the same treatment.

Dear Sheriff Betts,

Someone driving by a dumpster reported seeing a dog being callously thrown away. It is important that this alleged incident does not go overlooked, so other animals will be less likely to be harmed.

Luckily, staff members from the Stray Rescue of St. Louis Shelter were able to rescue the dog they later named Malea. However, they were surprised that she didn’t pass out as a result of the dumpster being scorching hot. The shelter does not have space for Malea. It is therefore important that a foster home is found for her to prevent euthanasia, which could have altogether been avoided if it had not been for the reported mistreatment.

There is never an excuse to treat an animal like this. Whoever reportedly committed this crime could have taken the time to either find a suitable shelter or home for their dog, instead of treating a benevolent animal like a piece of worthless garbage. For these reasons, I demand you vehemently search for, investigate, and arrest whoever is allegedly responsible for this unthinkable crime.
