Six Blind Puppies Reportedly Stuffed in Bag and Abandoned Deserve Justice

Target: Joanna McClinton, Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives

Goal: Support strengthening laws against abandonment of pet animals.

Thanks to two Pennsylvania police officers, half a dozen defenseless puppies were reportedly saved from a bleak fate. The officers pulled up behind a vehicle where the driver was seemingly preparing to throw a bag off an embankment. When cries and squeals were reportedly heard coming from the bag, the officers intervened and found the young pups (who were also blind) inside. These animals (along with their parents) have since been removed from the driver’s residence, and the driver has been held on suspicion of animal cruelty.

Tragically, countless pets are abandoned every year in America. Many end up on roadsides, in fields, in public spaces of all types, and eventually dead. If a caretaker has not made arrangements to rehome a pet or give the animal to a shelter, then that person could be charged with animal abandonment in almost all states. But some states apparently take this insidious offense more seriously than others, levying felony charges and potential prison sentences. Pennsylvania, where the aforementioned alleged incident took place, is not one of those states. Individuals found guilty of this crime only have to pay a fine, usually for as little as $300.

Sign the petition below to demand stronger protections for abandoned and at-risk animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Speaker McClinton,

When six blind puppies found in an enclosed bag were rescued from alleged abandonment by police officers, they were the lucky ones. Far too many abandoned animals are left defenseless on roadsides and in other harsh environments for which they have no preparation. Abandonment is an offense as cruel and often deadly as any traditional act of animal cruelty.

Pennsylvania, however, seemingly has a different view. Under sections 459-601 of the state’s animal cruelty statute, abandonment is defined as an offense only punishable by “a fine of not less than $300 and not more than $1,000.” Are these numbers the price tags for a living being?

In neighboring states, the penalties for abandonment reflect the gravity of the offense: felony charges and actual jail time. Please show your constituents that Pennsylvania takes all forms of animal cruelty seriously. Amend the law to enact tougher penalties and to set a standard that could save innocent lives.

Sincerely,

  2. TIFFANY WHITE!!

    AUTHOR OF THIS WRITE UP!

WILL YOU PLEASE CHANGE THE TITLE!

    THESE PUPPIES WERENT BLIND!

THEYRE JUST SO YOUNG THEIR EYES WERENT OPEN YET!!
    ●●●●●●10-14 DAYS●●●●●●

It doesn’t certainly doesn’t make this any worse.
But they ARE NOT BLIND because of someone they just aren’t old enough yet!!

    • Could not make it any worse you say!
What the fuck could be worse than being thrown, chucked, lobbed or whatever down an embankment to die a horrible death?
They are not blind you also say!
Well people on this site are really NOT so stupid and understand what the summery means when it says ‘blind’. Just a term used that everyone understands that they are not old enough to see yet.
Or you may prefer sightless, unseeing or suchlike.
People do not submit to this site to ‘split hairs’.
So if you must write something here, let’s hear your feelings towards the bastard who was committing this sick and callous crime.
If not, then you really should think before writing.
We all know what should happen and hopefully WILL HAPPEN to these arrogant nasty tossers but then, maybe you do not agree and would say he is mentally deranged’ or some similar crap.
If so then you need to keep off this site!!

      • Nice comment. (Sarc) 🙄. You know what they say about when you assume something. Who the f are you to say what someone’s comment should be? You need to stay off this site because you are a nasty bassturd.

        • What the hell, AnnMary. Point is that the commenter is saying that this act is very cruel and causes major suffering of these innocent animals and should be prosecuted and fined, made to pay. That is the main point.

        • No I am certainly NOT a nasty bastard as you say.
I am a normal everyday person who becomes a ‘NASTY BASTARD’ towards these arrogant animal abusing FUCKERS who seriously need terminating!
Funnily enough I’ve not seen a comment from you expressing your feelings or anger at the tosser who did this to these innocent puppies!
So, unless I have missed it somewhere, it would be good if you actually submitted your views on this excuse for a human being instead of’ nit-picking other people’s reviews.
I really do not give a stuff what you think of me but look a little closer to home as they say.
We do not submit to this site to berate each other but to form an alliance to hopefully eliminate these animal torturing pieces of ‘shite’ from the world so they would NEVER do anything like it again!
To re-iterate, my comment has nothing to do with you whatsoever. If the submitter has a problem with my comment then she will no doubt let me know!
On Utube, people like you are known as KARENS.
Which means, someone always sticking their nose into other peoples business that does not concern them.
Take a look!! You may just see yourself in one of the clips.
To finalise, if you cannot write anything sensible then do not bother, as as you advise me, stay off this site as you do not seem to have any feelings for innocent tortured animals.
If you feel ‘that’ strongly , let’s have your review on what you think should be done to this piece of crap. It will be interesting to see what you have to say!!
          J,W.

    • Why do you think they aren’t blind? They look old enough in the picture for their eyes to be open but I was wondering if these were the actual pups or not.

  3. Nadine brundage says:

These innocent puppies were stuffed in a bag and that alone is animal cruelty. The state of Pennsylvania needs better laws in place to protect animals from neglect and abuse as that state has become rampant in cases of animal cruelty. Cruelty cases should automatically be a felony.

  4. There are far too many animal cruelty/abuse cases in the news!! Laws, prosecution & sentencing needs to be much stiffer!

I do hope the POS who was about to commit this henious crime BURNS IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. $300.00 fine is not good enough!! Pennsylvania change the law here & give animals a chance at living a full happylife! Thank you for saving the pups!

  6. BUT THE ABUSER OF THOSE LITLLE PUPPIES ALSO IN A BAG AND TRHOW HIM ALSO AWAY. NO MERCY.

    • Too bad we in a society can’t do the action you suggest. Put order and allow police or sheriffs to enforce it that the person and anyone else living in his residence BE not EVER again be able to possess any animal. ALSO IF ANY ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN OR ON THE GROUNDS OF THE RESIDENCE IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE THEM AND PUBLISH AD FOR REHOMIING TO AN INVESTIGATED PERSONS OR PERSON.

  7. Come on PA, we can do better than this! We domesticated cats and dogs to be our companions and this is how we treat them? Their lives are worth more than a small fine! Time in prison needs to be mandatory for those convicted of animal abandonment or abuse and a MUCH higher fine. The punishment right now does nothing to deter horrible people like the one the police caught in time.

  8. It’s great that the cops caught this evil bastard red-handed…just a shame one of them didn’t “accidentally” push HIM over the embankment, hopefully breaking a couple of his limbs and leaving him at the bottom to suffer. That would have been more effective than the pitiful and pointless “punishment” that will be handed out to this cretin.

  9. The happy ending was sheer luck; cases like this nearly always end in tragedy. Why? Because PA’s sentencing laws for animal abusers/torturers do NOTHING to deter these monsters who commit such sadistic atrocities. SHAME on PA legislators for incentivizing barbaric animal cruelty. If you don’t fix it NOW, you are complicit & deserve to burn in hell along with the perps. A max $300 fine–WTF? He should be tossed into the ocean in a bag!

  10. Thank goodness these puppies and parents were rescued. There is no excuse for cruelty.

  11. Pennsylvania is the puppy mill capital of the north east. you will find breeders everywhere especially Lancaster. they need to stop these greedy slobs from hurting anymore animals. put laws in place to protect them and prosecute these scumbags.

  12. mary pitman says:

THANK YOU FOR THE POLICE OFFICER THAT CAUGHT THIS
USELESS HUMAN BEING WRAPPED IN SKIN.

THIS PERSON IS DEFINATELY A DISGRACE TO HUMAN KIND AND HE HAS TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT HE WAS ABOUT TO DO.

EXACTLY PUT HIM IN A BAG AND SEE HOW HE LIKES IT.

  13. Pups eyes are closed up to 2 weeks they aren’t blind..,they loser has been caught by the police..let’s be grateful..fine too weak!!

  14. Sick and tired of reading about animal abuse EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! And nothing seems to be done about it because it keeps happening. SO WHY AREN’T LAWS MADE TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM DOING IT???? INNOCENT ANIMALS ARE BEING ABUSED WITH NO ONE TO STEP UP TO HELP THEM. MAKE THE LAWS STIFF ENOUGH SO NO ONE WOULD EVEN THINK ABOUT ABUSING THEM !!! WHY HAS OUR SOCIETY COME TO THIS ????

    • Good reasoning.
This is what has GOT to happen to make these arrogant non-caring bastards tow the line.
They know nothing is going to happen to them so do not give a toss!
If these ‘asswipes’ knew there was a good chance of them being terminated then I guarantee that animal torture and abuse would drop within a week!
But getting the weak bloody law to initiate this would be the big problem, as it would no doubt upset their cosy lifestyle as they would have to actually WORK for their living!!
Constant petitioning could maybe make a small impression but a nice ‘fired up’ mob or suchlike could locate and visit these bastards, and make an even ‘bigger’ one!!

  15. Elease M. Bradford says:

I’m so sorry to hear about the neglect these innocent fur babies were subjected to. I’m glad the police officers rescued them and their parents. The despicable person who did this needs to be severely punished with much more than a fine. I hope these fur babies are adopted into loving homes and they get justice.

  16. Under sections 459-601 of the state’s animal cruelty statute, abandonment is defined as an offense only punishable by “a fine of not less than $300 and not more than $1,000.”
This is a MOCKERY of animal victims!!!!
    ANIMAL LIVES MATTER!
MAX JAIL for this psychopath. Please, enact tougher penalties and set a standard that could save innocent lives. These pups deserve justice – just like YOU and ME!

  17. Pamela Plambeck says:

Intentionally bandoning helpless puppies is heinous behavior that needs to be prosecuted and charged as such. Please set a higher bar that sets a precedent.

  18. Joseph Kenosky says:

Find the offender(s) and euthanize them.

  19. Dennis Busto says:

Absolutely No Tolerance Towards Animal Abuse n Cruelty. NONE!!! PAWS MATTER 🐾

  20. AT LAST, SOMEONE WAS `ON THE BALL` AND STOPPED THIS EVIL, CRUEL, WICKED WASTE OF SPACE (YET ANOTHER ONE WE DONT NEED ON THIS ALREADY OVERCROWDED PLANET) FROM COMMITING MURDER.
THESE POOR ANIMALS, SO YOUNG AND RELIANT ON A SO CALLED `HUMAN` (THAT IS A JOKE TO CALL THIS SAD EXCUSE FOR A PERSON) AND THIS EVIL MONSTER WAS GOING TO KILL THEM.
THESE SADEXCUSES FOR HUMANS MAKE YOUR SKIN CRAWL, THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE HERE OR EVEN UNDER A STONE.
KARMA WILL ALWAYS REPAY YOU , WHETHER YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT, MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE….YOURS IS COMING YOU DISGUSTING, EVIL, WICKED `HUMAN` (AND I USE THE TERM LIGHTLY.
