Six Blind Puppies Reportedly Stuffed in Bag and Abandoned Deserve Justice

Target: Joanna McClinton, Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives

Goal: Support strengthening laws against abandonment of pet animals.

Thanks to two Pennsylvania police officers, half a dozen defenseless puppies were reportedly saved from a bleak fate. The officers pulled up behind a vehicle where the driver was seemingly preparing to throw a bag off an embankment. When cries and squeals were reportedly heard coming from the bag, the officers intervened and found the young pups (who were also blind) inside. These animals (along with their parents) have since been removed from the driver’s residence, and the driver has been held on suspicion of animal cruelty.

Tragically, countless pets are abandoned every year in America. Many end up on roadsides, in fields, in public spaces of all types, and eventually dead. If a caretaker has not made arrangements to rehome a pet or give the animal to a shelter, then that person could be charged with animal abandonment in almost all states. But some states apparently take this insidious offense more seriously than others, levying felony charges and potential prison sentences. Pennsylvania, where the aforementioned alleged incident took place, is not one of those states. Individuals found guilty of this crime only have to pay a fine, usually for as little as $300.

Sign the petition below to demand stronger protections for abandoned and at-risk animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Speaker McClinton,

When six blind puppies found in an enclosed bag were rescued from alleged abandonment by police officers, they were the lucky ones. Far too many abandoned animals are left defenseless on roadsides and in other harsh environments for which they have no preparation. Abandonment is an offense as cruel and often deadly as any traditional act of animal cruelty.

Pennsylvania, however, seemingly has a different view. Under sections 459-601 of the state’s animal cruelty statute, abandonment is defined as an offense only punishable by “a fine of not less than $300 and not more than $1,000.” Are these numbers the price tags for a living being?

In neighboring states, the penalties for abandonment reflect the gravity of the offense: felony charges and actual jail time. Please show your constituents that Pennsylvania takes all forms of animal cruelty seriously. Amend the law to enact tougher penalties and to set a standard that could save innocent lives.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. What happened to these puppies for them ALL to be blind? Was the mom not fed and/or watered during the pregnancy? This individual needs to be charged to the fullest extent and NOT for animal cruelty but for cruelty to a living being. PUNISH these POS’s so they won’t want to do this again!! Give them a reason to NOT want to.

    • Usually from inbreeding… or too many litters with the same pair. Nature starts to mess with the genetics of the babies to show that things are out of balance. Very sad and totally avoidable.

      • Puppies don’t opent their eyes until they’re 10-14 days old. Nothing happened to them. They’re just that young…

    • Essie dahmm says:

What the 😭😲😭😲😭 is going on who would do this horrible to precious puppies. Should face a place sent to jail….. Never use a breaker who puts unwanted puppies in puppy mills. This is outrageous find this murderer. !!?!!! Save his name.

    • I totally agree.. Were they born blind? Or was the mother dog not being cared for properly during pregnancy? It’s a very sad world we live in, now let’s pray the idiot gets jail time and same thing done to him.Im so glad they were all saved.

    • They were so young they weren’t open yet. Which is disgusting

    • Pups don’t open their eyes until 10-14 days. They were just THAT young…

    • All puppies are blind when they’re born, eyes don’t open for a few weeks. America and.other countries with poor animal care laws needs to wake up to such cruelty. Firmly of the belief you should be tested to see if you’re fit to keep animals and children, neither should be a right!!

  2. Animal abuse/cruelty is a FELONY-FEDERAL CRIME with fines and imprisonment of 7 years. that means that PA can use that 7 years. Make them pay for all expenses in caring and rehoming of the dogs, then put them in a plastic bag and heave ho. If you don’t want puppies spay and neuter

  3. sick ppl, remove this POS from society and make it better for EVERYONE, NOT ENOUGH PENALTIES FOR THE WICKED MONSTERS

  4. EVIL CRUEL MONSTER! He should suffer the same fate!! Some people don’t deserve oxygen.

  5. Why wasn’t the pos’s name listed? Probably from a puppy mill!!!! The Amish never have to be prosecuted- not saying that this was the case, but anyone who does anything to hurt or abuse (or destroy!) innocent precious animals should be tortured. They don’t even deserve jail ( free room and board and better meals than honest hard- working people)!!!!

  6. Maria Lavorato says:

Thank you, thank you to the officers and thank you for taking away their parents from these EVIL MAGGOTS! DO NOT RETURN THEM!!!!

DID THEY HAVE A Breeder’s License!?!?!?!?!?

Agree with you ch!!! FELONY CHARGES AND FINES BUT MUCH GREATER THAN $300.

Pennsylvania amend your feeble law and fines you have in place for animal cruelty! IT’S MURDER!!!!!!

    • Agree with your comments. Thankfully the officers were able to intervene and save them. What type of evil monster would even think of leaving defenceless pups to die a slow death or throw them over an embankment to be hit by traffic. This psycho must be given maximum punishment as the fine is a joke. There must be a deterrent, give them jail time and maximum fine and ban them from owning animals for life. Name and shame the scum who did this, throwing baby puppies away like trash. Hope karma catches up with him and he gets what he deserves 1

      • These bastards sure need naming and shaming so animal activist mobs, groups whatever can then organise a visit to these could- not-care-less fuckers and teach them a lesson they will never forget!
The useless judicial system MUST be made to make examples of these animal torturing bastards so others would soon get the message.
We must make them listen with letters, protests, blocking off their entrances etc, etc to make them understand that people are fed up with their weak and stupid sentences for these arseholes and need to up their game.
Vote them out if they will not do anything or will not listen to reason.
It is up to us, the normal people to make this happen and STOP these bastards pronto! Animals have just as much right to be on earth as arrogant, greedy, and in many cases, waste of space human beings!
What a shame that the tables could not be turned and the animals could rule.
        Serious food for thought!!

  7. Susan Silva says:

WE NEED STRICTER LAWS FOR THESE MONSTERS WHO HAVE NO REGARD FOR LIFE!!! THESE ANIMAL ABUSERS NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND PROSECUTED!!! THESE INNOCENT PUPS DESERVE JUSTICE OR THESE MONSTERS WILL NOT STOP AND NEED TO BE KEPT AWAY FROM ALL ANIMALS!!!!

  8. Maria Lavorato says:

    Agree with C K as well….
All blind…..more charges for that!! SEND A MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Puppies don’t opent their eyes until they’re 10-14 days old. Nothing happened to them. They’re just that young…

  9. We can’t have weak ass laws like this. This turd ex owner needs to be taught a valuable life changing lesson here.

  10. Off the bastards.

  11. These cruel subhumans MUST BE PROSECUTED WITH HARSHER PUNISHMENTS NATIONWIDE AND WORLDWIDE!! ENOUGH of letting these subhumans go their way with no PUNISHMENTS!!!

  12. Find the monster. List his name. Harshest punishment possible. There should be a public outcry about this. Laws are too weak.

  13. The scumbag monsters who did this need to be removed from the planet.

    • First of all these pups were too young to open their eyes. Puppies don’t open their eyes until they are 10-14 days old.
But yes, this person just took the cowards way out. Thank GOD those officers stopped

  14. Steve Petyerak says:

Blind puppies abandoned. There needs to be major felonies and major jail time for these heinous crimes.

    • There were NOT blind! They should rephrase that to say the pups were so young, 10-14 days, that their eyes weren’t open yet.
That, however, doesn’t make what he did ANY less despicable

  15. Diane+johnson says:

REALLY 300-1000 fine and a slap in the hand and off you go to do the same!! Joanna Mclinton quite clear your animal abuse/neglect laws need too be changed (to felonies)!!

  16. Alexander Croci says:

Please publish the names and addresses of the assholes who did this!

  17. LoriUgolik says:

This perp deserves the death penalty and lethal injection would be too humane!!!

  18. Laura Rolder says:

The justice system is broken for these poor helpless innocent animals. The law meed to change and anyone who causes any harm to animals need to sebd a long time behind barsand not be allowed to ever be around any animals for life.

  19. Okay, according to this picture, these puppies were really young so what they SHOULD’VE said was these pups were so young their eyes weren’t open yet. They probably couldn’t hear much either..

  20. Julia Edinger says:

I totally agree with usan Silva
