Dog Allegedly Kicked and Hung Deserves Justice

Target: Reid McCain, District Attorney of Harrison County, TX

Goal: Punish man accused of assaulting his pet dog in public.

Another brazen act of animal cruelty allegedly took place in plain sight in a Texas town. Witnesses claimed they saw a man forcefully kicking his dog before he reportedly hung the animal by the leash from a door handle. Worse yet, one of the witnesses claims that the suspect—Jacob Edwards—confessed to routinely beating the pup.

An officer on the scene detained Edwards and questioned him. He is now facing charges of causing pain and suffering to an animal. Thankfully, the dog is said to be recovering. And authorities have confirmed he will not be returned to Edwards.

Sign the petition below to urge a just resolution and appropriate penalty in the event of a guilty conviction.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA McCain,

“We encourage people to call police if they see something like this.” These words from the Marshall police chief relate to the alleged animal cruelty against a dog that reportedly took place in public view. With apparent witnesses and the account of a responding officer, justice should be attainable in this disturbing case.

The community needs to know that when it does report suspected crimes, they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent. Please seek maximum charges for the sake of this recovering animal and for the deterrence of future acts of violence.

Sincerely,
