Goal: Find and arrest the person who shot an arrow into pet cat.
Cheese, a sweet tabby cat, was shot through the chest with an arrow by an unknown assailant. So far, no suspects have been identified, so the killer is still on the loose.
Cheese’s family discovered the arrow impaled in their cat’s chest when he came home one afternoon. The family rushed Cheese to the veterinarian, where it was determined that the wound was a mortal one.
Right before Cheese was euthanized, his family took one final photo of their sweet pet. The family hopes that other cat owners in the neighborhood will choose to protect their cats, noting that people should “keep your felines indoors.”
The ASPCA has been working with NYPD to find the cat killer. A necropsy has also been conducted in the hopes of finding evidence that might tie the killer to the crime.

I just read a couple of reports that this poor cat was a victim of abuse before this. The owners should be held responsible in some way. Who keeps letting out their furbaby when it looks like it’s being targeted.
We all know that not much effort will be put into finding the culprit. I hope if they are found the judge is an animal lover.

When are people going to realize that they need to keep those pets indoors? Stop letting your cats roam the streets were it isn’t safe from from animal abusers and killers and cars. Take dogs for a walk on a leash then take them back in the house. It’s up to you to keep your pets safe. As you can see, the law isn’t going to help because all judges do is slap these murderers on the wrist.

EXACTLY! I see letting your cat or dog roam outside, indiscriminately as just another form of abuse/neglect. The average live span of an in and out cat is 3-7 years, while the average life span for a strict indoor cat is 12-17+ years.
Cats outside are more endangered by dogs, cars, sadistic animal haters… not to mention fleas, ticks, parasites, etc. Fleas can cause Stomatitis in cats, and the cure for it is REMOVING THEIR TEETH! A vital weapon for a cat to defend itself.
Keep your pets inside and/or supervised!
My cats would go outside into our back yard. They were neutered, vaccinated and taken the vet whenever they needed to. THEY lived into their 20’s. I take offense at you saying that they were neglected and abused because they got to enjoy their lives climbing trees and sleeping under bushes. They also were well fed and got to sleep in my bed and anywhere else they wanted to. Ever heard the saying ‘MY CATS LET ME LIVE HERE.
Though it is definitely safer to keep pets indoors, if they go outdoors they should not have to be subjected to violence by the sort of filth that killed this cat. These pieces of trash are violent criminals and need to be dealt with as severely as one would be dealt with if they hurt a human child. In fact, the same types of criminals do both. They serve no purpose to society and will only continue to cause innocent people and pets suffering. Look at Richard Chase as an example. The death penalty should be expanded to such criminals.
Humans that abuse or are cruel to animals should be tortured, hanged, beaten, and thrown into hell! I would have no problem sleeping at night knowing they are suffering for eternity. Justice for Cheese!

In order to find the psychopath who did this, law enforcement first has to take this as a serious matter and devote the time and effort to find the nut who did this. As a cat mom, I cannot stress this enough — keep cats safely inside at all times. You could buy a harness and walk a car outside safely like people do with dogs. I strongly agree with everyone that we have to protect our fur babies from the cold, cruel world.
If a cat will not walk on a leash, create a screened porch for them. Use WIRE screen and not fabric screen they can tear.
