Goal: Seek maximum punishment for man accused of shooting dog with crossbow and dumping body in river.
A man was apparently caught on film tying his dog to a tree and shooting it with a crossbow. Reports of this brutal attack came to light after neighbors belonging to the local homeowner’s association claimed to have security footage of this heinous event.
Officials with the Montgomery Humane Society were called to the neighborhood, where they received testimony and viewed the footage that appeared to record the brutal killing.
The video apparently shows Charles Graves placing his large white and grey female husky mix on a tether.
“Mr. Graves returns to his vehicle, retrieves his crossbow, and shoots the dog,” the humane officer wrote in the report. “Then [he] begins to drag the dog to the top of the hill and pushed the dog into the [river].”
Although Graves was arrested, he is being held on only $2,500 bail.

Animal abuse is a horrific crime that is often under-prosecuted. We ask that you conduct a vigorous prosecution and seek the maximum penalty in this case.

Charles Graves is a criminal; charge and sentenced him to max jail time . He must never be allowed to have or be near dogs/pets/animal nor be in any business associated or having to do with dogs/pets/animals. It takes a certain kind of inhuman to tie a pet and then shoot the pet with an arrow. Charles Graves is a murderer, a walking threat to humans and animals.
Why do people have to be so cruel! If u don’t want the pet anymore turn them into a rescue so they have a chance to find an owner who will love them! This asshole deserves to die a horrible death like he did to this beautiful husky! 💔💔💔

The judges will not give the sentencing that these animal abusers & killers should get. I have said it before, when judges come up for re-election check on their sentencing of animal cruelty & killings & if they are weak in their judgement do not vote them back in office & make sure you get the word out to as many voters as possible so they will not vote for these heartless judges. It is past time that these judges get the sentencing they deserve: no jobs!!!
This was PREMEDITATED MURDER. It took time and thought to murder anyone this way. The dog was completely innocent and could not even defend herself from her owner’s evil. DO NOT TAKE THIS ACTION LIGHTLY. The amount of the bail shows how little this state cares about animal abuse.

It is so difficult to imagine the evil it takes to do something so horrific to a supposed “pet,” an innocent, helpless animal! It is also hard to express just how much I hate this animal murdering monster! This monster definitely deserves to have the same done to him, but since that is not an option, @ least prosecute him to the max with punishment that actually fits the crime! That means extensive jail time where the other inmates can do what they feel is right! If ever allowed to see the light of day, it should go without saying, he should be banned from ever being allowed any other animal for the rest of his miserable life!
