Success: Cat Killing Vet’s License Revoked

Kristen Lindsey

Target: Karen Phillips, Director of Enforcement, Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners

Goal: Thank the of Veterinary Medical Examiners for moving to revoke the veterinary license of the doctor who murdered a cat.

Thanks in part to Forcechange’s Revoke License of Veterinarian Accused of Killing Cat with Bow and Arrow petition, the Alley Cat Allies announced recently announced that the Veterinary Medical Examiners Board has officially filed the paperwork to do just that. This is the first step in preventing this cruel and inhumane woman from practicing veterinary medicine again, and we must applaud the board for taking positive steps in the right direction.

ForceChange petitioned the Austin County District Attorney (Punish Vet Accused of Bragging About Killing Cat) to take action against Lindsey initially after an April 2015 incident wherein the vet allegedly shot and killed a cat in the head with a bow and arrow. According to reports, Lindsey lifted the dead animal by the arrow to have her picture taken, and then posted the picture on social media and bragged about the incident. Unfortunately, the District Attorney did not file charges against the veterinarian, but she was fired from the practice where she worked and the Veterinary Board opened an investigation of the incident.

The news that the board is moving forward to revoke Lindsey’s license is a positive step in the right direction for animal rights that will not only encourage stricter punishment for those who commit acts of animal cruelty, but also provide some justice for the horrific death of the cat, which was believed to be a neighbor’s pet.

Our work is not done, however. Lindsey is appealing the revocation, and we must continue to encourage the veterinary governing body to make the right decision and revoke this woman’s veterinary license. Let’s begin by thanking them for filing the necessary documentation.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Director Phillips,

Thank you for moving forward and filing the paperwork to revoke Dr. Kristen Lindsey’s veterinary license. The horrific act Dr. Lindsey bragged about on social media is a true case of animal abuse, and I appreciate the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners taking action against this woman.

I understand that Dr. Lindsey is appealing her license revocation, and I sincerely hope that the board will remain strong in its stance against Lindsey during her appeal. It is being reported that facts will be presented during the appeal, but the facts already presented appear to be airtight–Lindsey shot a cat through the head with a bow and arrow, had her picture taken with the dead feline, and bragged about it on social media.

Please remain resolute in revoking Dr. Lindsey’s license and thank you for your action against this inhumane woman so far.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  2. Karen Remnant says:

Austin County need a new DA, one with balls! So she’s been sacked, her licence to be revoked, but the bitch is still free to live her life!

Why become a vet if you kill animals.I could never trust someone like you…. This cat had a family. Do you realize what you do when you take a life from an animal that means the world to a child,a person that’s old,or alone? You tear their World apart its losing a family member. You are crule and double minded …Why are you a vet is my question to you? You killed a cat and want to save a cats life..that family lost a member to you who are suppose to be the Dr to help…lol you who murderd a cat want people to trust you to do everything possible to save a cat, bird,or a dog, chicken one day…May God have mercy on you……

I’m glad to hear this evil woman, this so-called ‘veterinarian’s’ license has, finally, been revoked. However, she should have been fined the max as well as spent the maximum time behind bars for the horrific, unspeakable way she murdered this poor, innocent kitty.

  5. Maybe she’ll become so depressed over losing her license that she kills herself with a bow and arrow through the head. Then, if we’re really lucky, her mother will take a picture of that and upload it to Facebook.

  6. Lisbeth Alvarado Sanchez says:

Excellent news! Although further actions should be taken like sending this scumbag to jail for many many years.

  7. Gertruida Wessels says:

Thanks so much for this, she deserved it! Vets are suppose to care for animals and not enjoy killing them!

  8. A photo posted on Dr. Lindsey’s Facebook included the following: “My first bow kill lol,” “The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s head! Vet of the year award … gladly accepted.” Has Lindsey had a psych test? This is not someone who should be allowed to be in the care of animals in any capacity. Ever.

  9. Swetlana Frei says:

This sadist should be imprisoned for her life. So that all animals and animal lovers could breathe a sigh of relief. Schizo!

  10. William Arndt says:

It is beyond my comprehension how a vet could do something like this. Or how a dentist – one trained in the LIFE sciences – could take pleasure in hunting and killing animals for the fun of it. Neither one, nor others like them, should be allowed to enjoy positions of respect in our society. And I feel sad for any pet whose owner continues to visit such a pseudo-professional after learning about their disturbing behavior.

  11. Hooray. This bitch’s license is revoked. Still…I want to find this nasty, skank and kill her..she needs the fucking shit beat out of her til she bleeds to death. She needs killed and put out of her misery and she needs to rot in hell.

  12. THIS STORY MAKES ME SICK AND MAD AS HELL.I have been following this story since it first came out. Do they not evaluate a person entering vet training as to how they feel towards animals in general? I can’t believe that her fellow classmates didn’t know how she really felt about animals. No one that cares about animals would shoot an animal through the head, post a photo with a huge smile on your face and make a horrible and disgusting statement about it!! We animal lovers are following the story to make sure that she gets what she deserves which begins with losing her vet license entirely and forever. She doesn’t deserve to practice vet medicine with her attitude towards animals.

  13. Lilian Caughlin says:

Great news. Hopefully she has to pay back huge debts of student loans and nobody hires her for any job.

  14. She’s clearly a psychopath – i.e. hence the smile on her face as she holds the helpless, precious cat that she maliciously murdered !!!! This MONSTER should never be allowed to practice veterinary medicine ever again. In fact, she should never be allowed to be anywhere near animals ever again. What the hell is the matter with her? She spent all that time and money to became a vet … only to do something that no REAL veterinarian would ever consider doing? I hope that poor helpless cat haunts her dreams forever !!!! She is a disgrace to veterinarians world wide and a disgrace to the human race !!!!!!!

  15. Totally sickening…..now she has to get a low paying job
so she can pay back her bank loans she took out to get her
vet degree. What a dumb bitch. That is what you call doing before thinking…..stupid, stupid, stupid.

  16. catherine jenereaux says:

Revoking her license is the only way the message will get across to others like her. She took an oath to care for animals. Obviously that oath meant nothing.

  17. She Can’t Understand Normal Thinking

  18. People! Read your comments. There’s a difference between justice and vengance. If you can’t see the proportionality and don’t even know whether this was typical behavior, then you need help.

  19. People, onetime or another this cat is part of someone’s family members.

How could there is no laws to protect cats same as dogs. Just because dogs are loved more and have better protections.

What in the world killing an animal be a proud and fun thing to do. This is very cold blood!!!

Killing in battle-field is one thing but shooting your poor neighbor’s cat is absolutely not acceptable.

She should loss her license for sure.

Those in TX like to hunt animals should really think if the roles are reversed how would they felt then at the other end.

This poor cat does not got chance to go home and see his family. Just like someone family members never come home and the family is waiting for days….with grief….

People should petition to change the law in TX.

  20. May this cat rest in peace and God take good care of him at his last moment so he did not suffer so much!!!!
