Dog Reportedly Locked in Apartment Closet and Left to Starve Deserves Justice

Target:  Clay County, Kentucky Attorney Joe White

Goal: Give people who allegedly locked dog inside apartment closet before moving tough legal sentence.

A malnourished dog was allegedly locked inside a closet and abandoned by the owners. Yvette Rogers and Ronnie Goodwin were arrested for the crime shortly afterwards. It is important they receive the maximum amount of time in prison as allowed by law if they are found guilty of this thoughtless act of animal cruelty to better ensure other dogs will remain safe.

The neighbors who allegedly found the dog said the fur was so matted the animal was in an extreme amount of pain. According to authorities, Rogers and Goodwin left the dog behind because their time to move out had expired. The animal was permanently seized and will eventually be put up for adoption. Rogers and Goodwin were charged with second degree animal cruelty. Sign this petition to demand they spend time behind bars if it is discovered they mistreated and neglected this innocent creature.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear County Attorney White,

Yvette Rogers and Ronnie Goodwin were arrested after neighbors reportedly found their dog abandoned inside their old apartment closet. While it is good news the suspects have been apprehended, they need to spend time in prison if it is found they committed this heinous act to better ensure other animals will not have to endure the same fate.

According to reports, the dog was found by neighbors. Authorities said the dog was malnourished and extremely matted to the point of being in pain. Police indicated that the suspects had left the dog behind because they were not able to take the animal with them when they moved. The dog will be re-homed, once fully recovered.

For the above stated reasons, I demand you suggest Rogers and Goodwin be sent to prison for a lengthy amount of time if they are found guilty of this vile and selfish act of animal cruelty.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

How do people become this disgustingly sick and evil?

  2. eleanor+dunkavich says:

These creeps need a dog like a hole in the head put them in jail

  3. why couldn’t these 2 lowlifes just give the dog to a rescue?

  4. Instigation of the death penalty is essential for all animal abusers globally.

THIS NEEDS TO BE THE LAW I KEEP SAYING THIS I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU MICHELLE TAYLOR!!!

    • Poor little thing. These people lived in an apartment. Didn’t the landlord check the apartment after these low lives moved out? They were abusing the dog long before moving and locking it in the closet. Thank goodness for the neighbor.

    • Estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo Michelle, es lo que se merece!!!!

  5. Wow… these folks couldn’t be bothered to drop the dog off at the nearest shelter?
May they get time in prison, and never be able to own a pet again!

  6. These people need to be locked away in prison so they can see how it feels. Of course they will be fed and treated as the human beings are aren’t but 1120 years at least for both.

  7. Barbara Garrison says:

I worry about all of the other Animals abandoned this way, that we don’t find. We are reaching epidemic levels of extreme animal cruelty in this country. Only tougher laws will put criminals away for a long time. In addition to laws being passed, we need to support rescue groups who search the dark corners of society to find these poor animals. We could also encourage more whistleblowers, who report what they see.

  8. As another comment said – we need tougher animal cruelty laws in this country. There is no excuse to continue allowing so-called people to get away with a slap on the wrist for such insane cruelty. If these people are found guilty they need to go to prison for a long time. That really isn’t harsh enough punishment though or what they did to an innocent animal.

  9. If there were actual meaningful animal cruelty laws and punishments this would not happen! Like a huge fine and long prison terms!

  10. this is the scum of the earth throw them in jail for good

  11. Can someone please stop the absurd abuse of animals ???
If you would punish these people severely, just maybe we could help these innocent animals from being tortured at the hands of these heartless people !!! Animals are helpless from protecting themselves from heartless humans!!!!

  12. Jail is too good for this scum

  13. Laura Rolder says:

They must be locked away! They both are a POS! No innocent animal should‘ve ever endured such cruelty and abuse. TOUGHER ANIMAL LAWS FOR ABUSERS!!!

  14. Yvette Rogers and Ronnie Godwin are depraved, vile monsters who deserve a long prison term for their total lack of humanity. What they did to this poor innocent dog is beyond belief.

  15. Whoever is responsible for this precious animal really needs to have there head examined. If you don’t want your animal then don’t get one. Animals don’t deserve to be treated this way. Animals are to love and give them a good home. Well, personally I think they need to be punished and prosecuted and thrown in prison. No more animals for these people.

  16. Make these people for all the care this poor innocent pup needs, then lock them in a closet and walk away. Nothing else is justice and these slaps on the wrist do no good.

  17. WHY is this called second-degree animal cruelty??? This is malicious cruelty to a living being and they should go away for years. Shouldn’t be in society and should NEVER be allowed to have pets again.

  18. Monica+Lee+Koski says:

Totally inexcusable and disgusting! If these two creeps were unable to take the dog with them, there certainly are other options available besides abandonment, locked in a closet, without the basic needs for life! I plead with the prosecutors to give the harshest sentence of a mandatory extensive jail time @ the very least. It should go without saying that neither creep should be allowed to own another animal in their lifetime with a permanent banning!

    • We need tough laws that make an example
to others that this kind of inhumane treatment will no longer be tolerated And there should be strict penalties for anyone who breaks the law concerning inhumane treatment by anyone of any animal !!!
