Goal: Stop putting small animals through torturous experimentation.
Mice, hamsters, and other animals are being dropped into beakers filled up with water and forced to swim so they do not drown in a test conducted by Eli Lilly, a pharmaceutical company. This “forced to swim test” involves dosing these small animals with substances, and many activist groups are urging its ban. The test is meant to bring scientific clarity on human depression, but PETA claims these poor creatures are “forced to swim for their lives.”
Many other pharmaceutical companies have banned this test after it was discredited by scientists. The test was heavily criticized because they believe floating is not a sign of depression, therefore it will not help in the studies towards it. This experimentation is tortuous and cruel.

After scientists have discredited the “forced to swim test” and activists have spoken up about how cruel it is, it is time to ban it. i think many of these companies are run by sadists. anything is fair game for the almighty dollar!
ANY experiment that doesn’t produce meaningful scientific information MUST END IMMEDIATELY. Those involving helpless animals are an UNACCEPTABLE use of taxpayer dollars.
There are non animal methods that can be used. I always said if i were in a situation where my pet needed to be experimented on to save my life? I would die first. Of course, that would never happen to anyone. This is SICK!!
Mr Ricks, let us all save you a ton of money and time. ANY living being drugged and tossed into water will be panicked, depressed and upset as hell. This bogus experiment teaches nothing a two year old couldn’t tell you so it’s pretty embarrassing that your company has to sink to this level to torture animals for universally known information. Experiments on animals are not good science, they rarely help humans and they always kill and torture animals who are horribly abused for your bottom line. Heres a hint: in case you didn’t know you can use computer modeling, it actually works .

This is extreme animal cruelty and there is real justifiable reason to continue these ridiculous, pointless “experiments”. This tells us nothing except that these people have no problem tormenting defenseless tiny animals and using tax payers money to do it. These sick practices are absurd and there is no credible evidence telling us they have ever helped anyone. Essentially, at some point, these people managed to convince someone this may serve some purpose (other than lining their pockets).Now, all these years later, we see the absurdity of this but it continues because it now is already an accepted thing. The reality is these experiments tell no one anything of value and there is no credible evidence otherwise. So let’s all just accept the truth that this isn’t working and end the needless cruelty and stop wasting taxpayers money. Of course they will try to make an argument otherwise. Good one, you may be right, but sadly there are lots of these demented kind, and it definitely needs to end. What depresses me (without being tossed in water BTW!) is even if we somehow stopped all animal testing in the US, or severely limited it, I don’t see it ever ending in many other countries, especially those who have so little regard for like they kill their own people! God help us!!! 🙏
