I strongly support the Pet and Women Safety Act(PAWS)legislation. There is no doubt that domestic pets are killed by domestic partners as a means of revenge. These crimes are violent acts of animal cruelty and legislation needs to reflect that.
Animal control officers need to be trained to look for the signs of domestic abuse related to the pets. This is very common with domestic abuse.
