Demand Justice for Horse Allegedly Starved and Left to Suffer Cancerous Eye

Target: Joe Khan, District Attorney of Bucks County, PA

Goal: Hold Heather Fitzgerald accountable for the alleged prolonged cruelty that resulted in the untimely euthanasia of the horse named “Brazilliant”.

The recent case of Heather Fitzgerald, charged with serious animal cruelty in Upper Bucks County, has shocked the community. Allegations state that Fitzgerald condemned her 11-year-old horse, Brazilliant, to live in “painful conditions” for an extended period, including untreated cancer that ultimately led to the decision for euthanasia. According to the Bucks County SPCA, Fitzgerald’s neglect resulted in the horse suffering from severe health issues, including a weight loss so drastic that he was unable to walk properly, indicating a critical need for immediate veterinary care that was never sought.

Despite prior warnings and interventions by SPCA law enforcement officers regarding her treatment of animals, including citations for letting her dogs roam freely, Fitzgerald allegedly failed to rectify her behavior. There were reports of the horse’s eye injury being neglected for months and that she attempted to treat it without veterinary assistance. The severity of the horse’s reported condition – a cancerous eye and neurological symptoms in its back legs – points to a pattern of negligence that should not be overlooked.

To prevent future cases of such apparent heinous neglect and ensure justice for Brazilliant, it is essential that Fitzgerald faces appropriate legal consequences. It is crucial to make a stand against animal cruelty to protect vulnerable creatures from enduring similar fates. Therefore, the demand is simple: prosecute Heather Fitzgerald to the fullest extent of the law for the alleged cruelty that led to the suffering and death of Brazilliant.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Khan,

The tragic case of an 11-year-old horse named Brazilliant has come to light, raising significant concerns regarding animal welfare in our community. Heather Fitzgerald is facing charges of aggravated cruelty to animals, which allegedly include neglecting to provide medical care for a cancerous eye condition that caused immense suffering and ultimately led to the horse’s euthanasia. Fitzgerald’s actions, or lack thereof, have reportedly resulted in prolonged pain and distress for Brazilliant, illustrating a critical disregard for the horse’s well-being.

Notably, Fitzgerald had been warned previously by SPCA law enforcement officers regarding her treatment of animals. Her apparent continued neglect raises alarming questions about her fitness to care for any animals. Animals rely on their caretakers for love and proper treatment; when this trust is broken, it is critical that there are repercussions.

To ensure justice for Brazilliant and to send a strong message against animal cruelty, we urge you to pursue the maximum penalties allowed under the law.

Sincerely,
