End Experiments Involving Painful Injections and Surgeries at Prominent Research Lab

Target: Annika Östman Wernerson, Director of the Karolinska Institute

Goal: End the inhumane experiments that allegedly involved killing and mutilating helpless animals.

Documentation has surfaced detailing horrifying experimental practices occurring at the Karolinska Institute, where researchers have allegedly subjected animals to extreme suffering. Reports indicate that experimenters injected substances into mice’s brains to induce inflammation, exposed them to prolonged noise, and subsequently killed them. Additionally, mice were reportedly administered aspartame, leading to their deaths at various ages, further illustrating a shocking disregard for animal welfare in pursuit of research objectives.

Further examples of alleged cruelty include the surgical implantation of electrodes in rabbits’ legs and the deliberate severing of their spinal cords. The distress apparently inflicted upon these sentient beings, including traumatic brain manipulation and tethering for observation of their muscles, raises serious ethical concerns and questions the validity of such research practices.

The time has come to demand that funding and support for inhumane experimentation cease immediately, ensuring that animal welfare is prioritized over questionable research outcomes. Therefore, it is imperative to call for an end to these alleged practices at the Karolinska Institute and to hold the individuals responsible accountable for their actions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Director Wernerson,

The recent revelations regarding the treatment of animals in experiments at your institution are deeply troubling and demand immediate action. Allegations of injecting substances into mice’s brains to induce inflammation, exposing them to distressing noises, and ultimately killing them paint a disturbing picture of inhumane animal testing practices. Furthermore, reports indicate that both young and old mice are subjected to drug administration only to meet a similar fate, highlighting a shocking disregard for their welfare.

Additionally, the surgical procedures reportedly conducted on rabbits, including the implantation of electrodes and the severing of spinal cords, raise serious ethical considerations about the treatment of sentient beings in research. This approach to scientific inquiry cannot be justified in any ethical framework and calls for an urgent reevaluation of the values upheld in research.

We demand a halt to inhumane experimentation involving animals at the Karolinska Institute and request that those responsible be held accountable for their actions. A commitment to ethical standards must be established to protect these vulnerable creatures.

Sincerely,
