Demand Justice for Allegations of Horses With Gaping Wounds and Dead Puppies Found in Trash

Target: Lesli S. Boese, District Attorney, Waukesha County, WI

Goal: Hold accountable those allegedly responsible for the horrendous animal abuse on the Mukwonago farm.

Disturbing allegations of animal abuse have surfaced in Mukwonago, focused on a local farm. Witness accounts from former employees paint a harrowing picture of neglect, with one horse allegedly causing severe self-inflicted injuries on unsafe fencing. Workers have described finding horses with gaping wounds and serious injuries from overcrowding, and even the unthinkable: reports of dead puppies disposed of in the trash and deceased horses buried beneath manure piles. Such inhumane treatment, if substantiated, demands urgent attention and appropriate punishment.

Further allegations suggest a repeated failure to seek proper veterinary care for animals until they are critically ill. The fact that approximately 40 citations for overcrowding have been issued since October, yet serious animal welfare charges were downgraded to mere municipal citations, raises significant concerns about the effectiveness of enforcement actions. These animals, who are entrusted to human caretakers, deserve better protection.

The petition demands that the Waukesha County District Attorney take immediate and decisive action against those allegedly responsible for this abuse. It is essential that justice is served to prevent any further suffering and to hold accountable anyone who disregards the welfare of these animals and the laws in place to protect them.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Boese,

Recent reports about alleged animal abuse on a Mukwonago farm raise serious concerns for animal welfare and demand immediate action. Former employees have recounted harrowing instances of neglect, including horses sustaining dangerous injuries due to unsafe conditions, as well as the tragic disposal of deceased animals inappropriately. These shocking accounts paint a grim picture.

It is disheartening to learn that despite various allegations and police investigations, the response has involved primarily municipal citations rather than criminal charges. Former workers have expressed that significant health hazards have been ignored for years, leaving many animals in dire straits without necessary medical care. This situation is unacceptable and seemingly highlights a significant gap in safeguarding animal rights and welfare.

Immediate and appropriate punitive measures must be taken against those allegedly responsible for this abuse. Strong action is essential to ensure the wellbeing of these animals and to promote a culture of accountability and compassion.

Sincerely,
