Demand Accountability at Farm Where Horse Reportedly “Gutted” Self on Fencing

Target: Leslie S. Boese, Waukesha County, WI District Attorney

Goal: Ensure appropriate punishment for those allegedly responsible for severe animal neglect and abuse at a Mukwonago farm.

Allegations of severe animal neglect and abuse have surfaced at a horse farm in Mukwonago, raising deep concerns about the treatment of animals under the care of Ralinda Howard. Former employees report shocking conditions, including horses discovered with immense gashes, impalements, and untreated wounds. One particularly horrifying account describes a horse that “gutted itself on the fencing.” The community is distraught as more details emerge, including reports of dead horses buried under piles of manure and deceased puppies found discarded in trash.

Former employees have come forward, despite fearing retaliation for speaking out about their experiences. They indicate a long history of neglect, where veterinary assistance is sought only when animals are gravely ill. With numerous overcrowding violations issued by the Town of Mukwonago, it appears evident that the conditions cannot support the number of animals present, leaving them cramped and increasingly vulnerable to injuries and illnesses. Despite attempts to report these conditions, the community feels the response has been inadequate, with only municipal citations issued rather than criminal charges.

The demand for justice in this case is urgent. It is crucial for local authorities to take the allegations against Ralinda Howard seriously and to impose substantial consequences that will not only hold her accountable but also ensure the safety and well-being of the remaining animals on the farm.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Boese,

Recent allegations surrounding Ralinda Howard’s horse farm in Mukwonago present a disturbing picture of severe neglect and abuse toward animals. Former employees have reported horrifying observations, including horses with deep gashes, impalements, and a lack of proper veterinary care, claiming that the conditions on the farm are hazardous and inhumane. Despite these grave concerns, the response from legal authorities has focused solely on issuing municipal citations rather than pursuing criminal charges.

With alarming reports of dead horses being buried under manure and numerous overcrowding violations, it is evident that immediate public intervention is necessary. Animals appear to be suffering under dire conditions, and continued neglect cannot be tolerated. Intervention is crucial not only to provide immediate help to these animals but also to address the systemic failures that have seemingly allowed such cruelty to persist.

We urge you to reconsider the severity of the alleged animal abuse on this farm and ensure that appropriate legal actions are taken against Ralinda Howard. The community demands justice for the animals who can no longer speak for themselves.

Sincerely,
